I was 4/4/4 League, @Xul's report makes it 8 on the regular

I remember being underwhelmed by regular last year but loving the other 2.

Any surprise tastings, info, or other fun stuff at the event tonight?
(Oh, and thanks for the notes, hitting up the FotM tomorrow at Provisions)

    No.

Vanilla BAMP is draft only, and sounded fairly limited. I believe Andrew said it will only be at FotM + internal events, but it's possible it will make it out to a few other places.

Lots of interesting info about process/ingredient choices but I think that's the only real big piece of news.

Event was good, beers were phenomenal. BA MP last year was one of my favorite beers. This one's similar, but I got a very nice chocolate aftertaste that lingered and lingered. Hadn't had coconut before but this year's is amazing. It's a liquid mounds bar.

Was planning on maxing variants and 4 regular but I think I'll max everything and double dip at retail if possible.

looks like strawberry and hibiscus fruitlands and a new DIPA are the two growler fills for league members next week (or maybe already now)

Is it Devine Smite? It was pretty good, hazy, apparently the most hops they've put into a beer, got a growler of it. Though honestly I was more excited to get 4 day old Booming Roller cans.

Those were likely the first cans that came off the new bottling line. They had made mention that there were some issues with the dating from the new line but that it will be resolved shortly.

Was geared up to make plans to get to the Out of the Park Pizza fortnight of Monsters based on the pimping out picture by Modern Times on who is hosting it, but then I looked further in to details about how they're handling it and... ugh.. wow. Just doesn't seem like it's very elegant

So... like, the glassware isn't even guaranteed and the price tag to even get whatever taster of the pour just makes you wonder what's the deal. Given it's only in a handful of SoCal locations, this just seems off.

yeah, originally when I saw the list of places hosting a Fortnight event, I was geared up to pick up my bottle logic bottles and then head on over there. Get some Chuck Norris pizza and some pours of the variants. But when I saw the price tag... yeah, no thanks. That's not something I'm interested in doing even if my visit there was already going to be me plopping down more than $50. Just the principal of how it's handled is rubbing me the wrong way.

Provisions has 4 5oz pours for $35. Glassware only comes with flight. With fried chicken is $42. Lol I'm going home and not coming back.

Out of the Park might be a better deal rofl

Jesus. how many places are doing it with these silly stipulations? Here I thought most spots would be just do a simple tap take over. Were kegs just so expensive that they had to do 20 oz for $35 ?

While I dislike the gouging on special tastes, 4x5oz pours is pretty reasonable. A 22oz bottle is going to cost $30+tax so that doesn't strike me as horrid so long as all 4 tastes are BAMP. The problem is these cool events should be a come check out our establishment and buy dinner and/or additional drinks. Not money-grab holding special items hostage.

So 6oz pour and keep the glass, by far the most reasonable thus far..

I went to provisions and did the chicken and tasters combo. Our favorite (4 dudes) was by far the coconut & cocoa nibs followed by the regular BBA then the vanilla and then the coffee. We all agreed if possible to try to max out on coconut on Monday if any are available

Stopped by Provisions for the tasting tonight. Got there early enough to get a seat. I figured $35 for the four-flight and the glass was more worth it than the $50 OotP deal. The glass was A LOT smaller than I thought, more if a shot glass than a drinking glass.

Overall, they weren't as good as I recalled from last year. The original and coconut/cocao were my favorites. The vanilla was a little odd tasting to me, but the aftertaste was nice, mellow and lingering.

Went to Provisions tonight and was initially shocked by the $35 price tag, as I figured it would be closer to $25. The Vanilla kicked around 9:30pm. so no more flights after that. I still had a really enjoyable time and the beers tasted great. Got to meet some fellow League members and get a picture with all our coins lined up. For me, it went: Coconut and Cocoa Nibs, Regular BA, Vanilla, and with Coffee.
