Hey there I just snagged some date shake but was surprised to see it offered. Where did you see the projected list in advance of the sale so I know where to look next time?

Social media as mentioned above, but usually members will have an idea before an announcement depending on how far limits get raised.

Sign up for their emails. Theyll send you an email before each sale with a list of all the beers for sale, a paragraph long description and basic details like abv, bottle count and bottle limits. They send it out a few days before the sale so sometimes theyre wrong about which beers will be available though.

For instance, they figured date shake would sell out to league before the public sale so they didnt include it in the public email but it never sold out so they allowed public access.

Anyone try Finally Open in Anaheim yet? Leisuretown shows it’s available to go. Thinking about swinging by to pick some up.

I literally do not care what any label or cardbox container that holds the beer looks like. I only care about what is inside the bottle or can. I've never purchased a beer and thought wow, that taste so much better because of some artwork or how it was packaged. If the artwork or packaging was important people would actually want "empty collectables" and you could sell the actual empty bottles, but I haven't heard of a market for that.
Whatever "set" they are trying to portray is lost on me, maybe this is important to the instagram culture, but it is lost on me.

Except artwork and packaging ARE important. If MT or any brewery for the matter slacked on their brand or art, they would lose market value almost guaranteed.

Except for Track 5 and 7. =( Took me so long to track down (hehehe) a box. Managed to get ahold of one and O'Brien's was kind enough to let me open the bottles there a while ago. Good times. I was a little surprised that ~10 of the 13 still held up.

I gotta say that this new DDH MT5 is really delicious. Nice dank hop bitterness like I remembered. Definitely one of the best IPA’s I’ve had from MT this year.

I found it a bit overly sweet. Not offensively so, but enough to distract. Still enjoyed it, just not as much as I had hoped. I had high expectations for this beer though since I enjoy Nelson so much. Couldn’t help compare it to Spots and Dots from SARA, since both are around 7% abv and 100% Nelson. I much preferred Spots and Dots.

Maybe a little time will take care of the sweetness. I’m looking forward to picking up a 4pk. Nelson.

I haven't had Max w/Nelson, but I had Virtual Future last night and they nailed the WC IPA style. It's dank, hoppy, bitter, bit resinous, completely clear. My favorite MT IPA since How's Your Day, which I found was a bit more balanced. Best part is that Virtual Future made full MT distro.

Asking for some help on this whole reservation thing. I "purchased" a reservation for tomorrow, but once I do that I don't know what to do. I know there is a form to fill out, but it seems that is only for proxy pick ups. I'm just picking up mine. Will they automatically pull all my eligible orders, or do I need to fill out the form regardless? Thanks in advance!

If you're just picking up for yourself, then all you need is the reservation - show up at some point during your selected time slot and you'll be all set.

Thanks! Sorry, but do you know if it's curbside (Anaheim), or do I need to find parking and walk in? My first trip to Anaheim!

Youll have to get out of your car to pick up in anaheim. Ive only been to anaheim 2 times since they opened but i was able to park right in front of the complex each time
Edit: note that if there is a line to get in and be seated, you will not have to wait in that line. That happened one of the tines i picked up. The pickup area was around the corner in the small parking lot that MTs has

.....weak compared to what? all the other ridiculously stacked sales we've had this year from MT? then sure.. but this sale compared to other breweries sales is still very far from weak.

I noticed mega fortunate islands was canned 8/11 - are the special release IPA's usually a couple weeks old by the time pickups start? Haven't been buying any of the IPA's this year, this doesn't exactly help

It varies from sale to sale. Some of the IPAs have been canned within three or four days when pickups started, others were two weeks old. It seems they mostly fall into the range of five to ten days old when pickups start.

The lag time is a mostly unavoidable byproduct of the model of doing pickups at all of their locations, as well as doing sales on specific dates that don't always perfectly align with production schedules. It's a minor issue for styles like lagers, sours, and stouts, but far from ideal for WC IPAs.

    jwacky Devotee (375) Apr 13, 2017 California

I've ended up with so damn many IPAs in the fridge with everyone shipping due to COVID that I wouldn't even notice a couple-week old IPA. I've never had issues with MT's IPAs tasting anything less than fresh and they all seem to hold up for months. So... ideal? Perhaps not. Not sure what the alternative would be... maybe not including them in sales at all? I usually wait to try them on draft, anyway.

I'm having the exact opposite problem. Mosaic Hedge Witch sounds awesome. Stratos collab w/ ASB, sign me up for that. The lottery bottle sounds good as hell too. Not to mention that Poly Rhythmo is one of my favorite pils they do.

Find yourself a Theory friend or get some trade bait ready.

    Chaos Grid: Theory Edition
"This jaw-droppingly tasty liquid dessert is a coalition of our baddest imperial stouts: Beastmaster aged in bourbon barrels, Mega Devil's Teeth aged in rye whiskey barrels, and Modem Tones aged in bourbon barrels. That blend alone is enough to make the most devout pastry boi weak in the knees, but we took it even further by adding toasted & raw coconut, toasted almonds, Tahitian vanilla, & peanut butter. It tastes like doing a victory lap around the defeated husks of your enemies with a Snickers bar in one hand and a glass of bourbon in the other."
