Modern Times starts distributing in San Fransisco

Just saw the email. Pretty exciting, especially with the perspective of me moving up there next year. Can't wait for the protocosmos too!

 

I'm 99% sure I'd seen Modern Times in the North Bay last year. Are retailers allowed to sell beers not in distribution but from within the state?

 

K&L does it because they transfer distribution from Hollywood to their Redwood City and SF locations. Not sure if it's legal or what. It's also legal if the brewery self-distributes to the retail spots, but doubt that happened with MT.

 

Yeah same with the Wine Club in San Jose. They have an outlet in OC and just transport stock between stores.

 

This is horrible news. Modern Times was one of the breweries I was relieved to get away from when I moved here to the Bay Area from LA because their beer is delicious and I already have too much of a backlog of hoarded bottles to get through. How am I going to survive this?

Ive been getting MT for months now... how i do was expalined in a previous post above, their beer is solid stuff.

 

I heard from a local bottle shop a distribution agreement has been reached for the East Bay. This is great. I had to drive to K&L in Redwood City to get some damned Booming Rollers today.

 

I thought they all ready had distro up there, i picked up a 4 pack of black house last october at the whole foods on Haight

 

We'll be launching in the East Bay and the valley with Delta Pacific in early May. We're launching in Napa/Sonoma/Marin/Mendocino April 1st with Morris.

Wine club near SJC has some of the recent stuff (Fruitlands apricot)

 

Reading this, I am amazed, and happy, that we can get Modern Times beers all the way here in NZ, fresh, well cared for and officially sanctioned. While its relatively small amounts and mainly core range (no Fruitlands sadly), NZ is a long way from San Diego! So pretty lucky that I can pop into my local craft beer bar today for an early start to the Easter weekend for a pint of Blazing World and maybe grab a couple of cans or bottles.

 

Jacob is a the black belt ninja of beer badasserrie.of all time. Love this place. Love his service. Love the league.

Not one comment that The City is misspelled? Might as well call it Frisco.
