Will a mod merge this thread with the current monkish one plz. No need for more monkish threads
LMAO... hophead has lost his damn mind.
The last thread was locked, guys. Monkish threads have been monthly in here for quite a while now, at least for the last 6 months. It's December 1st. New month, new thread. Did you guys forget? Only thing I would suggest is adding "(Dec. 2017)" to the title.
While I'll agree that some of hophead's posts are a little overzealous, give the guy some slack. He likes beer just like the rest of us.
Me forgetting about anything monkish related isn't new lol. Even still @HopHead89 has lost his mind
Woah, this really makes me wanna curl up into a ball and hide under my bed. LoL
Is your bed hazy tho and are the sheets made from galaxy hops?
I'm going to find myself in Anaheim in the middle of December and I will have with me this week and/or next week's Other Half releases. If anybody wants to briefly (I don't have a lot of time to chit chat) meet up and perhaps trade me a recent Monkish release I'd be okay with that.
hit me up bra got some Monkish cans laying around somewhere. never had other half before, curious to try it. hear good things about it.
It's basically monkish, except the cans are from June 2016. You won't taste any difference.
No kidding. Not here for trading. Just for putting over .....the JUICE
What u need a can too broskies or wah!?
So is it safe to assume Monkish always has at least one or two hoppy offerings on draft and for growlers? Is it also safe to assume it won't be tremendously difficult to get pours close to opening on Fridays? Thanks for any help - looking forward to my first visit in a couple weeks.
Yes. It'll be a bit busy on a Friday, though
Thanks for your insight. Is it less crowded at noon on a Friday or at open on a Thursday? Or is close to closing time better? I guess it doesn't really matter too much, I just want to be sure I can sit down and have a few pours.
best to go on a day that isn't a can release because its a mad house usually.
What HopHead said, really. Keep an eye on their posts. No can release means it should be manageable. I usually go more towards closing time, but that's just me
Ahh, the student has become the master.
What do the emoji's mean? I see Space Cookie, Coffee Carlos, Planets Gotta Roll. What else?
Space Cookie, Coffee Carlos, La Schmoove, Planets Gotta Roll, thats all I got out of that code.
#PoppingBottles ? I'm assuming we'll get some bottled fun, not just IPAs.
Spake Cookie is easily one of my favorites from Monkish - excited to see it back at the festival!
Waving Ghost? Scary thought, not sure what kind of beer I'd expect. haha.
think it might be this week's CAN release!? hope so, I haven't tired it yet.
All I'm wondering is if Gift of Death is coming back, cause I got nothing else to do on Christmas eve than to wait for growler fills.
I'll be right there with you. That beer was awesome.
Also, it's probably too late to get some Magnificat this year right? BA or regular. I think I'm finally going to open my regular 2013 bottle this Christmas.
Glad they dropped these two today so I can shop in relative peace and quite over the next couple days. I had Space Cookie from the OG batch and liked it.........for about 6oz, definitely a beer to share as it gets very sweet and cloying after time IMHO.
Anyone else think Space Cookie smells and tastes a lot like fresh wort? I swear it smells like what my house smells like after finishing an all-grain brew, and tastes like when I try a sample of it before pitching yeast. Except, this is the fermented finished product. Maybe I'm crazy. This is one of the weirdest IPAs I've ever had.
Can't comment on the new batch but I really enjoyed the first batch of Space Cookie. Easily my top 3 of the Hazy/NEIPA. Have a trade lined up for batch 2, hoping it's just as good.
To answer your question though, no I didn't taste/smell what you got in Space Cookie b1. B2 might very well be different though! (hoping it's not)
damn & I didn't even bother with this release because I thought a Cookie IPA was too weird for me,but now seeing everyone's reaction to it, Imma have to trade for one
But at least he won't be missing out on the weirdest release since Indra Kunindra, which probably makes it worth a try.
I thought it was one of the best things ever, honestly. Well, not ever, but certainly a really tasty beer.
Anyone able to grab one of the Spectacles bottles?
I was able to score but I see Eventbrite still hasn't fixed the issue where the quantity is an empty field when the sale screen loads up.
screw you guys for not reminding me
Got a bottle. Enjoyed monocle, this should be better.
FOMO, I need to start trying out their sours. never been a sour kind of guy but yet i'm still fresh in this game of craft beer. maybe I need to start
They make great sours. They've been more on the drier, more acidic side, IMHO. I like Blendery sours myself, since it's super local. And still a pretty hidden gem.
