I think I paid $35 for Bruery Bois. Definitely paid $30 a piece for Black Ops and barrel aged Hibernation.
$40 for a 750 ml of cuvee saint gilloise on zwanze day.....soooooo good.
I had it on draft at DLD this year. It has that very sweet dark lord taste but not nearly as strong or overpowering with a touch of some sweet white grapes in there. And it was a bit smoother than fresh dark lord, but not as good as the 2010 bottle I had earlier that day.
I have not had a chance to try a lot of barrel versions, but i have tried lots of vintages of darklord several different times and it seems to peak at about 4 years and then drop. Figure that your Moscatel is really a 2012, as it was in a barrel for a year before the bottle.
Did you like it though? I can't tell from your description if you thought it was good or just "smoother". I'm anxious to try it whenever it is I decide to open it. I already have anxiety about getting tix for DLD next year. I went this year only because a friend had an extra.
It was good, my only issue is that it doesnt add much to the regular dark lord. It's not like it changed it to a different beer like a lot of bourbon beers do. But I really like the regular dark lord, so that isnt really a probem.
And for the record, although I had it on draft, I still traded pretty heavily for a bottle, because Im a dark lord hoarder.
I'm prepared for flames: $90 for a 1 year old Fou'Foune at the Brick Store Pub in Decatur, GA. It was on my birthday, the beer hadn't been available in stores or bars anywhere else for over a year and a half, and it was amazing.
Yea, I could always trade it and probably make out pretty damn well.....but, it's also awesome having a 750ml bottle of BADL just chilling in my cellar.
About $25 for Surly special releases.
But judging from your avatar, you payed a lot more for your GTO... :-)
Me and my cousin went half on a $100 bottle of sink the bismark. First heard about it in an article while I was deployed to Afghanistan a few years back, and wanted to try it ever since then. It was never in stock on their website, but happened to stumble on a bottle at a small local liquor store in Chicago.
Somewhere in the $14-$15 range probably, but I usually split those. I once paid $11 for a can of Heady. Yeah, I know, "whoa, big spender coming through!".
Well yes my GTO was more than $12, but less than a V6 Camry, so I still count that as being cheap.
I should update my original jan comment. This summer I spent $100 on a vanilla stout. Waiting until my little one hatches to drink the bad boy......
Where is MA? You got taken!
$35 for Double Barrel Damon.
$20.99 for a Firestone Walker 16...I should have bought the other bottles they had too.
This was maybe about two months ago... a 4pk of Dogfish Head's 2010 World Wide Stout for 34$
$30 for Brooklyn Black Ops, which I then got too nervous to open. Going to cellar it for a couple years, then try to find a fresh one and compare. Tried a pour at Savor a few months ago and enjoyed it, but I'm not convinced it was worth the price.
15 for deliverance! Not bad. I plan on buying it again.
Most I've seen is 40 for BA Wee Heavy by Alesmith would have bought it if I had the cash.
update, $60 for a Cable Car. ouch.
$14.99 Velvet Merkin bomber.
Either a bottle of Horny Devil for $12, a 4 pack of Palate Wrecker for $15, or a Gubna 4 pack for $15. I don't like spending too much on beer.
About $48 for a 2010 Drie Founteinen Schaerbeeksee Kriek off the shelf in NYC. Over $100 for a BBA Coton second-hand. Same range for a 2010 Aigre Plead the 5th, but that one I just got for the rarity value and for a bottle share at a festival. Actually drinking it this weekend.
Per ounce it would have to be $10.00 for a DFH 120.
29.99, Goose Island Gillian 765ml...And I HAD to buy 4 :/.
Probably fiftyfifty exlipse @ $35
$23.99 for Cascade Apricot
I traded $32 bucks of beer for a Bruery Melange #3, bought a Bois here locally for the same.
Utopias - Roughly $200
Black Damnation V - $150
Sink the Bismark & Tactical Nuclear Penguin (Shipping included) - $150
Cable Car - $60
Xyauyù - $40-60
How good were those beers?
Double Dose for $18.99 a 4-pack. It was highly recommended by the beer guy at my regular store and I was embarassed to ask how much. It's excellent but not worth $4.75 a 12 oz. bottle since there are many other cheaper beers that are just as good.
$40 for Beauregarde and $40 for Sour in the Rye Kumquats
32$ for Bois. Gotta break that one soon
25 for BA Mexican cake.
20 for Old Time series (missed the 25 dollar Rummy by about 20 minutes)
Didn't those retail for $20 for members?
Bottle Tart of Darkness (which was fine, but better on tap)
per ounce: Probably the glass of Zwanze 2013.
$35 for FW Parabola at a pizza place near DuPont Circle in D.C. Delicious.
$180 for Utopia
$85 for Westy 12
$80 in a bar for Scaldis Prestige
Great. It would have been nice to try a fresh 3F gueuze to see how the 99 developed. It was surprisingly carbonated and still was a very gueuze-ish.
2005 Framboise was probably the most sour beer I've ever had. Totally fucked up my palate afterward. Really really great though.
