$32.00 for Goose Island Gillian. I don't know if it's worth it because I haven't had it yet.

I don't know if it counts as beer, but I bought bottles of Samuel Adams Utopias twice and paid between $200 and $250 for each. Neither was worth that much, but the older vintage was better than the younger one by far.

I may have finally learned my lesson; a dollar an ounce may be about the highest I will go for a bottle of beer, though I might go up to $30 for a 22 oz if I really, really want it.

I just bought a bottle of Chocolate Rain for $50. I don't know if this is normal/fair or not since this beer is so limited. The price was not marked on the bottle and when the cashier was ringing me up I just cringed - looked the other way - and gave him my card. The same store has Westvleteren XII on the shelf - from the brick release - for $30 each and charges $9.00 (almost 2x the normal price) for Pliny the Elder.

CR is $40 ($36 with RS "discount") normally, but it doesn't make it to shelves unless the store is re-selling their allocation.

Most I've paid is recently 5 bucks or so for singles of hopslam. I now I'm a cheap ass. Now I must say it was worth it to finally try hopslam but I would rather buy a sixer of sucks for the same price, imo.

It is kind of interesting when you consider beer prices vs wine. I think there is a ton of overpriced junk out there, but some is actually worth it. I have friends who regularly pay $50 or more for a bottle of wine, but they think $15 for a bottle of Chimay is crazy. It's all perception I guess. To me, the answer is, if you didn't need the money for something else, and you enjoyed it, then it was worth it.

A $9 bomber of Great Divide Hercules at a grocery store, because I'm poor. :slight_frown:
Also, I'm certain it was overpriced a bit, but I really wanted to try it and there were no sixers available. Total Wine has sixers of Hercules for around 12-13 bucks... such is life. Fantastic DIPA though!

$12.99 for a Speedway Stout bomber. It was very much worth it, but also very reasonable compared to most. I can't bring myself to go any higher on anything. I even have trouble spending that for a six pack. Although if I could ever find any Bourbon County stuff I would love to try it and have no trouble paying a higher price.

I'm a cheapo, so the $8 bomber of Elysian Savant IPA. Honestly, I lack the sense of smell and taste to really distinguish between a New Belgium Ranger and a.. well, whatever the name of some $20 bomber would be.

I fell under the Sexual Chocolate spell, not even having tried it, I dropped $20 for a bomber. I thought it was going to be some majestic experience, because people wait in lines and camp out for the stuff, or had in the past. I opened it and what a huge disappointment, it was horrible. Henceforth I am not a fan of Imperial Stouts, they are generally overpriced and are not that great, my tastes have changed and this was the one that sent me running in the opposite direction.
