I've been given the task of purchasing two kegs in Spokane this week, for a brewery restaurant in Cashmere WA..
I want a local brewery, and 2 of their best selling beers.. Name your 2, if you had this Duty...
I'm an IPA fan, so of course, 1 of the kegs needs to be an IPA..

No-li pale ale is great and pretty hoppy. The no-li jet star is a double ipa and it is good, but a little too boozy. I also like the iron goat imperial red ale. I cannot remember what it's called but it is great and its basically a malty dipa.

Iron Goat: Bleating Goat Red or Impaler DIPA are both solid.
No-Li: Crystal Bitter is solid, the Flying Goat IPA Recipe brewed by No-Li is also nice

Not too much otherwise that is dependable in my opinion.

Impaler was the one I was thinking of. Probably my favorite beer in Spokane.

Another vote for Iron Goat here. Impaler is their double. I also enjoy the Head Butt IPA which is the single. The Goatnik Imperial is also tasty.

If you go with No-li then I'd see if you can get a keg of Solar Winds or Wrecking Ball. 12 String hasn't knocked my socks off with anything but I've only had their beer 2 or 3 times.

Selkirk Abbey also just got licensed in WA. Infidel is their Belgian IPA and it is top notch.

Edit: I'll also add that you should definitely have a conversation with the folks at Ramblin Road. Definitely.

If it's within your time frame, I'd suggest considering a jaunt over Sandpoint ID, and grabbing some Laughing Dog. I know, not a WA brewery, but, IMHO, they're the best brewery in that neck of the woods.

Goatmeal, Iron Goat's oatmeal stout, is pretty tasty as well.
Pretty much can't go wrong with Iron Goat!

    Any reviews ?

They are just getting going, so not sure where they're on tap or even if they are currently on tap anywhere. However, if you've had anything from the steamplant or the former Couer d' alene brewery then you should have a pretty good idea what you're in for. It's the same people.

Its been a while since i've been in the Steamplant... had a great atmosphere, but the beers back then were marginal at best... I say that, because it was 6 or 7 years ago... I'll sneak in there tomorrow for lunch.. I've got a pretty lax schedule next 3 days... thank you sir..

Post Street Ale House has the River City IPA on tap right now. I have not seen the Red yet. The IPA was same as CDA's.

I should clarify, the Steamplant has a new brewer now that is not affiliated with River City. As far as I can tell though they have not changed any of the old recipes, at least not by the time I was there last maybe 6 months ago.

IF I go to the Chiefs game tomorrow what's the chance of getting a decent beer in there ?

Low. I don't think they even have No-Li, but they might - just expect a good line since you can only buy during the period breaks IIRC.

Have you had the DFH / Sierra Nevada Rhizing Bines Imperial IPA ?
Pints definitely has a nice selection of taps. And they know what glasses to use, which is rare.

Did they put Rhizing Bines on?

I think they have Workhorse IPA on right now too, pretty good stuff.

I didn't want to start a new thread, but I had to say that I tried the River City Red and their IPA and I felt like I wasted a few bucks. I don't get it...the IPA tasted like a lager.

I know it sounds dickish, but that's my review for anyone wondering about it in the future.

Yeah, those guys need to get it together. The IPA was aweful (even for an English IPA?), and I had high hopes for the River City Red since the advertise the hell out of it, but even it was thin and not good.
