It's been a 750ml as long as I can remember so going back 2010...
Also people keep comparing using the highest price seen for Silent Night which is $20. It was $16 at Mother Earth. Understanding that there will be SOME markup, I'm thinking this is more of a $2-$3 difference in price over Event Horizon with a lot more packaging than what OH is doing. Aside from 750 ml vs. 22 oz, SN is additionally corked and caged while OH isn't even doing the wax anymore.

Another data point, Silent Night is $4 less than what the 750ml's of Sierra Nevada BA Narwhal and BA Maple Stout cost me, both purchased at the breweries.

At the end of the day it's all different beer so the price isn't a concern for me within reason. I like Silent Night, I like Event Horizon, and I like other BA stouts.

All very good points, but to speak to the price issue, I use the price that I pay in my line of thinking, not whatever it was at the brewery. If you drive all the way out to wherever Kinston is, it should cost less.

My point was more directed at the guy saying he could find Lindley Park for less than $15. I bought a bottle of Silent Night in Asheville for I think like $18.99, which is still more than Event Horizon and Lindley Park, but not a bad deal and it is a very good beer. As for BA Narwhal I did pay $22. It is also a good beer, but I do think that is the most overpriced beer in this discussion. So yeah, it was more expensive, but I bet you see them both for about the same price at other stores, just depends. Are they worth it? Probably not, but they are all creeping up there. I think I paid $12 the first time I bought Event Horizon and I thought it was outrageously expensive at the time. Meanwhile 4 years later, I don't even blink at a $12 bomber of BA stout! Hell I just paid $27 for a four pack of 12 oz bottles called BCBCS!

Stores in Raleigh sell Silent Night for $17.99.

Not surprised it won gold. I prefer it to any other BA stouts in NC. Except maybe Dark Arts...

yeah, over 3 ounces more is fairly significant. If EH is $15 and Silent Night is $18, that 3.36 ounce difference makes it so they're almost equal in terms of cost per ounce.

I had a 2012 that I cellared and it was very good.

I prefer Lindley Park over Dark Arts and The Event Horizon. The most terrible NC BA Imperial Stout is Green Man The Demon Dweller.
