There is a fun thread going on about the Mount Rushmore of cheap beers. A thread about bad beers should be fun also. What are the 4 worst beers you ever drank.
    My 4 are
    Dave's Cave Creek Beer
    Sam Adams Triple Bock
    Habanero Scuplin
    Miller 64

I had one of those cave creek disasters. The chili inside the bottle should have clued me in. Took a big swig, spit it right out on the floor. Really.

    Bud Light

One that I drank but didn't rate could replace Bud Light...Mississippi Mud.

The infamous Dixie White Moose belongs up there.

SA Triple Bock was actually pretty ok when it was released, so I'm not so sure about that one.

Not true to my ratings but I certainly remember these being horrific.

    Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss
    Coors Light
    Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale
    Miller 64

“Bad” is really subjective. Just like a Mount Rushmore of “Good” beers is equally subjective. I don’t spew hate about AAL’s or Malt Liquor. Some are actually pretty good and executed well, for what they are. That said, the worst beers I have come across in the past 15 years:

    Mango Even Keel
    Boatswain IPA
    Boatswain Double IPA
    St. Elias Puddle Jumper

Does anyone remember Death Valley Cream Ale? Maybe I even have the name wrong - I may have pushed it out of my mind!!! It was like drinking syrup. I have no idea how they got that much body into the finished product.

By the way, @dennis3951, I loved Samuel Adams Triple Bock, and at least the first sip of Crazy Ed's Cave Creek Chili Ale - that one was always a drain pour by the third or fourth sip!

Labatt Max Tropic Charge (Bad generic Mountain Dew + chalk dust + obvious alcohol burn [8.0%]) & in case you're wondering, it was fresh, not old. It may possibly be not only the worst beer I've ever had, it might be the worst thing I've ever had. :confounded:
Dave's Cave Creek It's been ..what.... 15 years, at least? I can still taste it. :stuck_out_tongue:Unfortunately, I bought a 6pk. Fobbed off two or three, as jokes. The remainder sat in a corner for ~ 5yrs, before I got rid of it. Didn't taste much different then.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Miller 64 - still looking for a beer in there somewhere.
Palma Louca - leaves an aftertaste/feel of musty/soggy cardboard in the mouth. What little flavor it has, quickly gets worse as it warms. I felt sick for about an hr &1/2 after drinking it. At least I got A Brazil tick. :sunglasses:

If that^ was just old (No dating. Just arrived, so not a shelf turd.), then Wachusetts Blueberry - Miller Lite + artificial(seeming) blueberry.

All love though, thought Mount Rushmore's would be fun way to start discussions.

    My List;
1.) Duclaw Sweet Baby Jesus (just horrific)
2.) Miller Lite, High Life (basically any beer that's 80% aluminum)
3.) Shipyard Pumpkinhead (If i wanted this much cinnamon I'd do the cinnamon challenge)
4.)Bud Light Lime (no rational needed just taste it)

Ohhhh, ok, I can do this. These are the worst beers to my palate - not necessarily the worst beer per my rating here.
    • Kupfer from Tangled Roots - an amber ale that was a movie popcorn butter bomb ...
    • Watermelon dorado from ballast Point - what I imagine picking up a watermelon jolly rancher up off the floor of a subway car would taste like.
    • Chai a Sutra - a chai infused Russian imperial stout from Hailstorm - the spices were so strong it made me start choking as I was drinking it ...
    • Tumwater Holiday Spice Ale - what drinking a knockoff yankee candle would taste like.

Ha. Yeah, I don’t think it’s “bad,” per se. It’s just so incredibly light, it’s like drinking barley seltzer.

My lowest rated beers and one's I would not drink again are in order:

    1. Short's Soft Parade
    2. Latitude 42 Island Fever
    3. Strawberry Short's Cake
    4t. Perrin No Rules
    4t. Founder's Lizard of Koz

Unfortunately, I still have one bottle each of No Rules and Lizard of Koz.

The pumpkin beer that made me (and my wife) truly dislike pumpkin beers. Good call! I need to remove St. Elias from my 4 spot and put this one in. Yeah....Shipyard Pumpkinhead it is.

An Edward 40 Hands with warm 211 sounds more appealing than drinking Pumpkinhead.

It's sad to see Habanero Sculpin on here as I loved, but I also put ghost peppers in my spaghetti sauce so yeah I have high tolerance for that.

Never had triple bock but I do know when it came out it was innovative for what it was and wasn't it listed as one of the top 5 beers to inspire Founders KBS? So have to give it credit for that. Maybe you just had a bad batch or one past it's prime?

I think it'd be better and more fair if people stuck to awful microbrews, instead of mass produced stuff. Which is pretty much all awful!

To each their own but for me it's hard to call a beer bad when it's a beer that helped inspire the wonders of KBS. In other means, it's a beer that wins respect for another brewer. But then again I hate Jim Beam and that also led to the inspiration. So to each their own and cheers!

not necessarily my lowest rated beers like Busch, Tsingtao, etc. or ones with handling/age/infection issues.

SA Triple Bock (I DID finish the entire bottle on my own)
Straight to Ale Barrel Aged Dark Planet
Kuhnhenn Tenacious Cassis (KRE's evil twin)
Dogfish Head Black & Red (minty Robitussin)
Tired Hands Only Void - Black Garlic (not too bad considering but still cringe worthy)

Cool Colt, wintergreen flavored Colt 45 was only available in the winter of '92-93.

Midnight Dragon, 40 oz with a Viking ship on the label....enough said.

Sea Dog Sunfish, if an alien was to ever piss in a bottle...it tasted like the fluoride treatment you get at the dentist.

Some real gems I've had over the years for my Rushmore

    1. Minhas Mystical Jack... The kind of beer you pair with a dead carcass
    2. BA Hellfighter, maybe it was a bad batch but I had to drain pour it
    3. Really any malt liquor bevage in general Colt 45, Cobra, etc take your pick...
    4. Not Golden Monkey specifically just the warm bottle I found fermenting under my bed for God knows how long... needless to say I drank it and needless to say I threw it in the dumpster.
