So yesterday, a buddy of mine down in Oceanside texts me and tells me about this awesome beer he just tried, liking it so much he had 2 or 3 of them - it was Lagunitas 'Born Yesterday' Pale Ale.

He knows my taste for beers, which is quite narrow, and he told me that I'd love this beer and I've got to find it.

Oddly enough, once he told me the beer, I remembered that I had seen it on the Facebook page for Tustin Brewery, as it was on the 'beer board' they post every day.

Last night, I told my wife that I've got to go try this beer, so I did. It's the tits.

So today, I check the online beer board at Tustin Brewing and it's gone. I knew it would be. But I had to have more. I only had 1 because I had to drive, so where could I find more?

I called around today and had no luck. I had just about given up when my wife tells me I need to take my daughter to soccer practice tonight, which I usually don't do. So I drop her off, and I think about what is around me. Trader Joes and a BevMo. I call TJ. No, they never heard of it. BevMo, they tell me 'yeah, we've got it in stock.' I can't get there fast enough. I find:

Four 6-packs at $7.99 each! Wow! My buddy in O'side paid over $11 per 6. The only downside was they weren't in the cooler. But whatever, these are hard to find around here. Or at least they seem to be.

Anyway, they are in the fridge now and doing well. These beers are fucking fantastic. I can only hope drinking from a bottled beer will do the same as off the tap. I know the answer to that but Lagunitas is really good at what they do, so I'm sure these beers will be awesome.

Do yourself a favor - if you can get this shit, do it.

If you need to try it, let me know...

    Cheers!

I have a Chasin Freshies in the fridge. I've not had one yet. They came and went so fast, but they are around still, here or there.

Total Wine Tustin has a few left, and BevMo Irvine had a bunch.

Yeah I was able to grab a six pack two weeks or so ago. It didn't last long. Cool part was I had my first bottle from the sixer on 10/30/14. The beer was bottled 10/27/14. 3 days old. Amazing shipping. As I understand it (per the liquor store owners, and a few others) they had some special delivery, pick up, or window of time setup or something alone those lines to ensure this hit shelves asap. Which is a cool move, and was greatly appreciated. Well balanced beer. Not a melt your face DIPA, or a malt heavy, malt light beer either, just solidly balanced and fresh.

Yes! Had it on the 27th (same day of bottling and kegging) at my local craft bar on tap and also purchased 2 6ers myself.
I was lucky enough to be there that night because I got a Born Yesterday T-Shirt and Koozie with my purchase!
    Love this beer!
