There's really not much point to this post except that I'm sad about it and wanted to share my sadness. It was in the drying rack and a skillet bumped it and - boom - instant crack. They're really thin, but I loved that glass.

I recently traded for some Pliny and was really looking forward to drinking it out of the IPA glass, but had to settle for my DFH all-purpose glass instead...

    That's a shame. RIP indeed.

A year or so ago, I had my beloved Unibroue tulip sitting on the lid of my kegerator. Without thinking, I opened the lid quickly, sending the unfortunate tulip across my garage and into the concrete floor. Sad days.

Bummer for sure, but it sounds like he lives a good life.

No, it's only sold online (or probably at the brewery I suppose). I just used my signature glass instead...

No, the DFH one. I could get the plain one, but I really liked that DFH one...

I got a Sierra Nevada branded one at BevMo. Do they have those out your way?

I just got mine from Sierra Nevada last (ordered two to avoid this problem). Shipping was $5 compared to DFH $11 (despite being much further) and they arrived in 2-3 days. Just a consideration as an option compared to getting the plain one on Amazon.

Thanks all - nice ending to this, I was at my local shop yesterday and to my surprise, they actually stock the DFH branded ones! I had never seen them there before. So all is right with my glassware again.

I've already broken one. They are super thin and fragile. My local grocery store sells them tho so I stocked up on them

I have broken the DFH one twice but the Spiegelau has held up pretty well.

I've come to the conclusion this glass is great for many varieties of beer, not just IPA's. I have two and use them all the time. In many ways it works similar to the Samuel Adams glass, although I really don't care to use the SA glass for IPA's oddly enough.

100%, this bears repeating. Always rinse it out by hand, dry it off, and put it away.

That being said the Dogfish Head IPA glass is a Spiegelau, so it might break if you so much as look at it the wrong way or fart while holding it.

I live by this statement, but even this isnt always safe. Twisted the bowl right off the stem on a FFF teku by accident while drying it. Thankfully I have more than one or it wouldn't have been pretty.

I ordered the DFH ones right when they were released and broke BOTH of them within about a month. I have never broken a glass prior to this in my life. I reached out to DFH and said I loved the glasses but they were incredibly thin and questioned their strength. They ended up sending me two new ones about a month later. I thought that was really cool of them. It's been about a year now and I haven't broken either one, so I don't know if the original batch was messed up or what.

Having said that, last year for Christmas I bought my brother a pair as they were on sale from the Spiegelau site. These were not the DFH branded ones - they had no logo on them whatsoever. I visited said bro a few months ago and was shocked when I actually looked at his glasses. They had to be TWICE as thick as my DFH branded ones. Still thin, but wayyyy more noticeably thicker than the DFH ones. Anyway, if you've had bad luck with the DFH ones, I suggest trying to get the regular Spiegelau set.
