How quick one forgets......
Close to having snakes?!
A flask? That's genius!
Dinner is worth the hype. Good man that @jhavs is
Whelp, I just got hit by @jhavs as well: Focal Banger, Maine Dinner, Hill Farmstead Solace & Solitude #4 & Mary, Oxbow Double Daisy Farmer, Quest Double IPA, and a Strawberry Chocolate Stout that I can't read the brewery name, because they printed it in yellow on a silver background.
Got a couple chilling now, will report back soon. Thanks Jon!
Enjoy! Chocolate Strawberry Whale Cake is from Burlington Beer Co.
Sweet box @colts9016 !!
Had that a year or so ago thought it was pretty tasty. Another nice box!!
Jesus @jhavs ! Crushing it my man!...
Dude if you are ever down this way let me meet up with you and buy you a beer, or three, you are a maniac and I really like maniacs.
I’m sure I’ll be down to my brother in laws in Putnam County soon, we can meet up at Suarez.
I'm there, will be a pleasure, let me know when.
Does anyone else legitimately think Dave looks like his avatar in their head? He does in mine. I'd be shocked if we met and he didn't! Be careful, Jon! You might not know what to do if he doesn't live up to expectations!
I always picture him like Captain Caveman!
I'm enjoying another one of those Hammerheart smoked beers @Vidblain sent me-
This time it's the weizenbock (well, they call it a hefeweizen, but it's a strong one ). And this one is also out-god-damn-standing! Just seamless with all of the flavors, smooth, rich and delicious! These guys really do seem to have something special going on- thanks again, Chris!
Careful! They released another bottle last week, and I may just be motivating me to send you one!
And by "I", I meant "you", of course. Where's that goddamn edit button already?
Pretty sure I remember the pic from the “show yourselves” thread and he looked thin than I expected and fit. Not really Garcia-esque.
Jerry was thin at one point...
My wife headed up to a conference in Madison for a few days, so I’m enjoying a little early week drinking courtesy of @thebeers
This one is setting me up nicely for a barrel aged coffee stout later.
Thanks Dave. Look for the review in NBS!
At one point we all were. Then beer happened.
I was hoping to break into my mystery bottle yesterday, but life happened so I get to have it tonight while I am definitely not packing up boxes.
Green bottle, silver cap, wearing the remains of a really good smelling imperial stout all over it. Seriously, who here wouldn't sniff the bottle and wonder what got broken?
I get a bit of funk when cracking the bottle. Oooohh...
Funk confirmed. Appears to be a golden sour, I think I am getting some apricot or peach in the nose.
Light, almost creamy, mouthfeel. Lightly carbed. Pretty sure this has seen some wood. Funk is lively, getting lots of notes but I'm less sure that there is fruit in this. Thinking more that it's an artfully done lambic that suggests all kinds of fruit and carries none. Light/ medium acidity. Bit of lemon coming out now as it warms, and just the gentlest spicy bitterness in the finish. Slightly yeast forward.
Tired Hands Ourison, an oak fermented saison. Now that I know, saison seems so obvious. My first sniffs told me stone fruited golden sour and I couldn't get all the way away from that. Definitely foiled by my first impression here.
Really fun beer. Thank you @larryi86 !
We have eels, the swimming snake; they terrify me and it is one of the two reasons I don't dive...the other reason is sharks
Oh man is this the understatement of the year
I hate to ask anyone for a favor but does anyone in here have an extra ‘11 bcbs laying around that they could spare? Looking to complete a small vert to share within the next couple of weeks.
I figured I’d ask here before I try the trade boards. Feel free to pm me as it would be much appreciated!
Put on a bit of weight and gained a few more wrinkles since this. Cheers!
Had the Mani this weekend, and I've never been more impressed with a smoked beer. Enjoy all these Hammerheart goodies!
You know it- cheers!
Is that Jerry?
Another beer from @2beerdogs
Power was restored after 41 hours without. A generator will be my next big purchase. I need a beer.
This tastes like lemon meringue pie with bits of grapefruit thrown in. Good beer.
@ONUMello anything unexpected show up today?
Just sittin' here havin' Dinner, thanks to @jhavs :
He's thinner but looks similar.
@Ozzylizard Has anything shown up yesterday or today?
I did. The Focal too. The Quest is up next.
Quest definitely more “New England” than the other two. I enjoy!
