"Had". You're still in.
At one point I forgot who my target was, so some of my hints may or may not apply. Sorry, or not
Well I have some serious reading to catch up on...
But in the meantime, a LIF
My Boilermakers, who were stellar for most of their season, are getting ready for their Men's March Madness run. Kinda funny, they're playing my actual alma mater Cal Sate University Fullerton.
(You should check out our football record---undefeated from the 90's to 2017). Go Titan football.
Anywhooo, here's the life.
You guess how many points the Boilermakers rack up in the entirety of this run. You don't have to choose how deep they go, but if you can, that may help you guess the point total. Reply to this post before Friday's tipoff.
I hope they go deep, they've rattled my nerves lately, but I'm hoping a week off, a lot of seniors, and some focus will garner at least a Final Four appearance.
To the winner, I will be sending Purdue colors your way...something Old Gold and something Black. And probably some hoppy stuff too. What the hell?
Wow @Buck89 . Simply fucking WOW!
Or PM me, if this gets lost in the THOUSANDS of pages.
Not trying to jinx or anything, but I have them playing 6 games in my office pool. And my other pool. So, what the hell, let's go all in: 395. And boiler up, until and unless they play my wolverines in the final.
I think I know this game. Fundamental basketball at it's finest. Also, count me impressed that you attended said university if I am thinking about the correct game. Mid 90s?
Package just passed through ohio on it's Eastern journey. My target hasn't liked my last few posts, but they have posted since then
Hint 9: The former basketball MVP who is still alive was a 1st round draft pick who went on to win Rookie of the Year honors
Finally found time at work to stop working and concentrate on more important things.
Oh balls, I crossed you off my list on #10. Back on it!
The missing numbers in the tracking number I posted are
@2beerdogs I'm hoping for deep runs by all the B1G teams (except those lousy Wolverinies) so I'll say 411 points. Go State!
Just to mix things up I'll go with a bit of a lower score than the guesses I've seen, at 282, but best of luck to their beating expectations.
LIF Alert: I'd like to keep up with the generosity of this group. Since I love March Madness, I'll tie this LIF to it
Pick the highest seed that will pull of the first round upset
#1) Pick which team will secure the win
If no one selects the correct team, or two people select the same team, move to next tie breaker
#2) What is the margin of victory?
example of a guess: 15th seed, Cal State Fullerton will beat Purdue by 7
If no one picks the highest seed to win, I reserve the right to ninja someone.
And for fun...who do you think is going to win?
LIF closes at the beginning of the first game on Thursday (the Oklahoma win with Trae Young going off for 38 points)
I'll take a guess with 265. I'll need to forward if I win. Since my wife went to IU, anything Purdue would probably not be welcome in our house =(
Thanks for the opportunity
I seem to recall you're an Oklahoma St. guy, so I think you're talking about this guy
Yep, I'm going on record as believing @RedhawkPoke is my sender.
I'll go with 226. Hope they do better though. Thanks!
Fun idea. I'll go...
16th seed, Penn over Kansas, 102 to 83
Thought I'd give someone else a shot at one of these boxes.
If I do win, I expect everyone who watches basketball to send me a box. Not just people in this BIF. Everyone.
I'll comply later - gotta go to Erie again today.
Really cruel of the NCAA to give you home games in the first two rounds then make you play your daddy in the 3rd. There's always next year?
Hate to break it to you my sender already guessed me so you can mark me back off.
You realize, of course, that if this were on NCIS your reflection would tell Abby your height, hair color, eye color, fingerprints, education, any genetic diseases, any meds/drugs you're taking, what your maternal grandfather did for a living, and a bunch of other BS. All this reflection tells me is the photographer might be a guy that still has both hands.
Actually, the game I'm referring to was played in the late '80's. It involved a school from my state from which I received my graduate degree. It was a one point game and the school from my Target's state won.
I'll go with 319.
Well, your recent hints seem to be directed in my direction....I'm gonna say that @Beer_Economicus is my sender!
I will guess 234, thanks!
Hint 9: A recently-departed singer-songwriter is well known for a parody song about people from a particular city -- folks who probably wouldn't like Lagunitas Censored or Humboldt Brown or anything associated with @cavedave. I'm not shipping to that city or state.
13th seed Marshall wins by 4
Thanks for the chance:
12 Murray State beats 5 WV by 3 points.
I have em losing to Nova, so I'll say 315
I gotta say, if he's deliberately giving hints that simultaneously point in two directions, that's some high level shit for sure! At this point the brook trout and violet have me all but convinced that it's NJ .
Hint #1: My target lives almost due south of a B1G school.
Hint #2: My target's city is approximately 2200 miles away from a city I recently visited.
Hint #3: I went to 2 beer releases this weekend, my target has checked into beers from one of the two breweries.
Hint #4: My target has started a LIF in either NBS 7 Sign-ups or Hints & Hauls.
Dang. Maybe I spoke too soon. We have Brook Trout too, but Purple Lilac instead of violet. You in American Chemical Society Electoral District I?
Yeah, according to Google we are.
Very impressive job!
I'll go with #12 New Mexico State upsetting Clemson by 15.
Box #1 is on the way and should land by Friday.
Here's the final clue as to where it's headed:
Hint 007: My target is apparently a big fan of his state's largest craft brewer.
Btw, there's also a small ninja star heading almost due north from me.
