I thought I was being clever because apparently the English shorten Henry to Harry. Oh well, back to the two that I was leaning toward. I may have been a little overzealous in my reads this morning.

Lol. I came home today early from work, just because I felt like it, I feel like being responsible so I’m staying home for awhile, this shit has to stop.

And this monstrosity of a box is in front of my door, I went to lift it and I grunted a bit carrying it in. Easily the heaviest box of beer I’ve ever seen, pushes 50 lbs. what’s in it? Not a clue I’m busy grounding my grandsons who thinks it’s funny to piss off pop. I’ll post a pic a bit later, probably after they’re in bed. Thank you FB, looking forward, makes me double sorry to be late on a box. I’m quite sure though packing material is fairly light, this box is not light, the picture doesn’t do it justice.

Oh man, that's a pairing I'd like to try some time. Let us know how it goes!
Woof, just thought - I can't image my state of being if I were to try both of those side by side in one go. But I'm relatively sure I'd really enjoy the trip!

@ovaltine you're 1 for 1 so far. I'm not generally a huge IPA guy, but this is really good. Glad you sent two of them....they won't last long!

There was a time, 5 or 6 years ago, when it was REALLY hard to get this beer, as in “trip to the brewery, stand in line for an hour or two, and MAYBE you’ll get it” really hard.

Now it sits on shelves in grocery stores, which is where I picked up this 6er of cans. It’s still pretty fresh, and it’s our son’s favorite beer, so for someone that’s never experienced Floyd’s, this was an obvious choice. I’m glad you enjoyed it, because I think it’s a really well-executed beer (if maybe a smidge overrated).

It just went down very easily, which is usually a good sign. While I'm sure I'm in the minority, I also really like the 12 oz. format.

Sorry all. I've been rather absent in this.. difficult time. Work from home is a lot more depressing than I thought it'd be, and I'm dealing with a breakup (seriously? when I can't get a hug from my mom??)

My favorite brewery - who makes beer styles my target has expressed interest in trying - has reopened online orders. I went ahead and made one big order to make sure my target gets some beers before they, potentially, run out of crowlers (seriously). Haul hint? Perhaps. It's a style my target has said they want to try more, and fortunately for him/her, there are a handful of that style available right now.

As for shipping, I'm at a loss for when to do so. Tempted to make the drive into the office and send it out from there, as the office is open. Will let you all know more as time progresses.

Anyway, hope you all are doing well.

Here’s the box breakdown from that magnificent beer nerd @Roguer. Big picture .....

    ..... broken down .....

Specifically, this breaks down as follows:

    - Mystery Beer w/Egypt Hieroglyphics
    - Aardwolf Brewing Irish Whiskey BA El Mariachi Imperial Stout
    - Aardwolf Brewing Apple Brandy BA El Mariachi Imperial Stout
    - Aardwolf Brewing Rum BA El Mariachi
Aardwolf Brewing Foeder Aged San Marco Sour Imperial Stout
    - Aardwolf Brewing Rye Whiskey BA All-Star Special Imperial Stout
    - Aardwolf Brewing Apple Brandy BA All-Star Special Imperial Stout
    - Main & Six Brewing Accidental Escalation Chocolate Coconut Imperial Stout
    - Main & Six Brewing Accidental Escalation Chocolate, Coffee, and Vanilla Imperial Stout
    - Main & Six Brewing Accidental Escalation Imperial Stout
    - Mystery Beer w/Egypt Hieroglyphics

I’m verklempt. What a magnificent package. And there’s swag, but it wouldn’t fit in the pics to do it justice - suffice to say, the swag was commensurate with the beers.

What a fantastic package from @Roguer. It illustrates the generosity of all the wonderful participants in these NBS BIF’s. You’re all a credit to beer nerdery and this site.

    Wait - what? There’s more?

    Yep.

This is an imperial milk stout aged on vanilla beans. It weighs in at 10% ANV and is a collab brew from Reve Brewing and Two Tides Brewing. The first thing that jumps out about this beer - the color, which is absolute pitch black. The sun couldn’t shine through this beer at 30 paces.

The head is also remarkable - I’ve not seen a head this dark in any of the Imperial stouts I’ve tried (which is a LOT).

The nose and taste are of course loaded with rich chocolate and vanilla notes, but the star for me is the stone fruit aromas and especially flavors. They really elevate this excellent imperial milk stout, IMHO.

Of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without a shoutout to @beertunes for the glassware, and my favorite glass, from NBS BIF 5 three years ago.

What an exemplary pair of beer nerds you are, @Roguer and @beertunes.

I placed the order for the local beers I wanted to send. I have some stuff set aside, so this means I can send out my full box at once instead of pieces. Fortunately, I can pick up the beers tomorrow curbside, so there should be no issue obtaining.

    I appreciate the kind words.

Glad you enjoyed! I have that same beer in the fridge, and haven't cracked it open yet, so I'm glad you enjoyed it. That was my first visit to Reve, and they're probably the most hyped in the Jax area by the local beer nerds.

Ha, classic. A lot of the hints were stretches referencing nearby geographic features based on pulling up google maps of your place (Dark Entry Creek/Nature's Bounty/King's Bay/Jekyll Island), or esoteric attempts to allude to your sandwich delivery duties (Ohio Class sandwiches/King's Bay/the vessel in the background of one of them/the jolly roger flag in the background of one of the pics). LeBron and Matthew Dellavedova both related back to St. Marys (LeBron's HS, Dellavedova's college), and the song titles were almost all the singles wikipedia had listed for Florida Georgia Line (I don't know much about modern country, so I had to rely on just looking at the discography page)

Hot damn, man when it rains it pours! I think most here agree health and safety are first and foremost (this very much includes mental health!). I don't think your target (whoever they might be...) will be upset or go thirsty if there's a delay in getting the box out. Just take care of yourself, and let us know if there's anything we can do digitally!

You take care of you and your family first, it’s always family first. I certainly understand, we all do. Me too, I’ll be late on my box , and I hate that, but ill add more beer and it’ll be ok.
