    Should I do another LIF?

    Should I do some Ninja'ing?

Should the contents of either of those things be poutine?

Should I send some ninja hot dogs?

I can also vouch for the Student Prince. I've only been there a couple times (even though it's only about 30 minutes away from me), but the food and beer are great. Last time I was there was a couple years ago and three of us spent hours sitting at the bar, eating good German food and playing LCR. Had to get an Uber home in the middle of a snowstorm. The combination of the weather and our state of inebriation resulted in a very large tip if I remember correctly.

Pretty nondescript from the side street entrance, you walk into a wood paneled , antlered , bier stein filled emporium of German gemutlichleit. Definitely recommended

So, in the first attack of two boxes sent by @Roy_Hobbs , the two brews I was leary of were the vanilla milkshake IPA, which wasn't the trainwreck I thought it would be, and this Pipeworks Donut Soup. An Imperial Stout with "lactose, cacao nibs, vanilla, coffee, and natural coconut flavor", it promised to be a busy beer. It was. But, muddled and muddy, with only the coffee being a standout component.

Thats a local beer for me ... they've gone so heavily into the super sweet beers - stouts, fruited sours, IPAs - I've almost completely stopped buying their beers.

Outstanding appearance; dull, pale yellow body, peach and tangerine color; opaque; big, billowy head, dense, creamy, lasting. Gentle fresh citrus smell; orange; powdered sugar scent; sublime sweetness. Exquisite taste; light sugar sweetness in conjunction with a moderate citrus flavor and velvet glove kind of bitterness; oats; very light alcohol taste in the background. Heavy body; soft and velvety; citrus juiciness offset by a pillow soft residual sugar feel; light to moderate alcohol dryness adds depth to the feel.

Oh, I'll dis hazy IPAs because they are not my preferred style of IPA, but I certainly will sing the praises for those that stand out. This beer certainly beats the majority of hazy IPAs out in the wild. The balance and complexity is pretty amazing. I didn't get a big burst of aroma, but the appearance and mouthfeel are probably some of the best I've ever encountered. The taste truly amazes me in that it is so balanced and subtle yet still packs a unique punch, bringing a nuanced depth to the palate with every savored sip. Yep, this is a great beer and well-deserving of its high BA rating.

Received from @BBThunderbolt . Thanks for sending this one!

Poured at fridge temp from a can. Pours Golden yellow with a solid amount of white head. Dissipates quickly. Bubbles rising throughout. Nose is wheat, orange, crackers, grass, earth, a touch of bread, and a little bit of honey. Really smooth and fairly light on the nose.

The taste is really nice. Smooth, light, and crisp. Sweet upfront. A bit of candy malts, honey, banana, grass, a touch of spice, a bitter hoppy back end, and a little bit of a floral taste. Really nice.

Mouthfeel is dry, light, and a bit crisp. Overall, this is a really nice blonde ale.

Clear, golden body; good carbonation; thick, robust head with great retention, white and rocky in appearance; skinny rings of foam decorate the glass. Earthy, spicy hop aroma; a bit of pine resin and general dankness. Fantastic taste; malty and resinous; light cereal grain background; bold hop bitterness. Heavy body; crisp and bright on the palate; sticky with a prickly sensation on the palate; semi-dry.

This is a top-notch double India pale ale in the west coast style. Everything about it is above average with some pretty exceptional looks and mouthfeel overall. A great beer all around to begin with and better than the sum of its already impressive parts.

    -----------------------------------------------------

...another outstanding malted beverage from Andrew...I've seen other BAs nursing this beer on WBAYDN? and have been intrigued by it. This past January, I had their single IPA on tap at a bar at the Philly airport and thought it was pretty decent. Someone from WBAYDN? stated that Second Fiddle was the one to try, so now I can say I have. And, yes, I find it better than Fiddlehead IPA (but wouldn't turn down either one)...
