Pours a gorgeous, crystal clear golden color with a fluffy white head that provides significant lacing. The nose is dominated by the grapefruit, with some dank citrus in the background.

The dank citrus flavors are more prominent on the taste, but make no mistake about it - the grapefruit is the star of this show, and it is truly delicious, especially with a little malt sweetness for balance.

The mouthfeel is full and very dry. I like the base beer more, but this still fits my palate exceptionally well.

Pours black with some mahogany notes on the edges and a creamy tan head that sticks around for a while. The nose is SMOKY - like sitting around a campfire smoky as the wood gets a really nice ash, and there’s a bit of honey sweetness as well.

The taste is smoky malts and more smoky malts - but before it gets to Cloyingville, there’s a big slug of hop flavors that present on my palate as delicious resiny pine, and some sweetness from the honey, which fits this beer really well. Wow, is this delicious.

The mouthfeel is medium and edges toward creamy. This is a fun, frolicking ride that I’d try again and again. Fantastic stuff.

 

Finally saw this, awesome hit @jonphisher - good looking beer there!

Beautiful dark orange like gold color, opaque, islands of clumpy bubbles linger as the head with a nice ring around the glass.

A crispy and hoppy nose; like caramelized orange and a refreshing herbal note.

The taste shows the same malty orange, but it carries more of a rind aspect that give it a resiny taste. Very interesting, on the finish this has a beautiful noticeable apricot flavor. Awesome awesome taste.

This beer drinks very light for 8% which I really like, it has a mouth coating bitter and dry finish; very sappy.

Man this is one great hoppy beer, it’s incredibly unique and really has every aspect of hops that I love. It also has a great mouthfeel and drinkability. Thanks for sharing this one Mike!!

 

And *that* is some serious small print! Never seen a LIF with legalese on it!

 

I usually enjoys these each year, I haven’t tried this one yet but every year they are always fun to try. Glad you enjoyed the ride.

Received from @Beersnake1 in Bif15 , poured into a smog city brewing glass also from him. The #4 ranked barley wine on beer advocate is a double barrel aged barley wine


Brewers Notes: A blend of two different Double Barrel-Aged Barleywines. The first Barleywine was aged in a Woodford Reserve Malt Whiskey barrel for over 20 months, then finished in a combination of Weller and Blanton Bourbon casks for close to a year. The second Barleywine was first aged in an Armagnac puncheon for close to two year, then finished in a blend of Heaven Hill Rye and Sazerac Rye casks. Each beer was cold-conditioned in stainless, and then blended together to create this Double Barrel-Aged Barleywine.


Dark , murky, muddy brown liquid capped by a thin taupe foam layer , quickly recedes to a taupe ring

Aroma is bourbon, raisins, toffee

Taste is bourbon soaked raisins, toffee, dark fruits ,

Mouthfeel is soft and fizzy , sweet , the 15.7 % abv is very well hidden

This is an incredible brew, so balanced , delicious …sneaky abv …do not operate heavy machinery after drinking this one

Maybe it should be made traditional that donuts be handed to patrons at breweries alongside pastry stouts. I suppose I could get behind that. That way, even if the beer doesn't impress, at least you get a donut.

Most of the hoppy Tree House beers sent me by by @Rub_This_BBQ were dispatched during bottle shares, but I went all out with this can of Very Green by busting out my one and only Teku, and was happy I did so. Yet I'm almost 10% below the average. Guess I'm more of a hardass about reviewing than I tend to think I am, because I really dug this. Thanks, Bill!

Fremont Head Full of Dynamite from @snaotheus.



Deep golden hazy appearance with substantial head from a vigorous pour. Light lacing.

Aroma is largely tropical. Pineapple asserts itself, but a broad tropical fruit medley is present.

Taste follows. Bright tropical fruit with requisite sweetness. Quick finish.

Moderate body.

This was an enjoyable hazy IPA on the sweeter side of the spectrum. Thanks!

 

We have Tim Horton's in W. Michigan and I've even been inside one, but never have I seen a maple dipped doughnut there. They sound tasty though!
