Hope you feel better soon! I was initially a bit concerned about trying this beer because of the mint, but I thought it integrated really well with the other flavors, and I don't think I would have been able to guess there was mint involved if I hadn't known beforehand. The acidity was a bit too high for my tastes, but I enjoyed the berry and mint.

So my first beer after a week of recovering from a bad cold, I figured a fruit laden beer would be just the thing.
I might have needed to wait a few more days, it was tasty but the aroma was completely lost on me.
Thanks @Victory_Sabre1973 - it was fun.

Well, troops, I'm back from the wilds of the edge of the Texas Hill Country, and survived another toilsome motorized land trip of 1500 miles each way. I'm a few pages behind on this thread but I'll try to catch up this week.
I received a box from @Whyteboar today, all unreviewed brews although I KNOW I've had a couple of them previously:

    From L to R:
    Founders Mothership Series Barrel-Aged Nemesis
Bells Expedition Stout - Must of had it before joining BA in 2013
Bells Expedition Stout Bourbon Barrel Aged
Bells Expedition Stout 35th Anniversary Reserve
Desnos & Geddes Dragon Stout - I picked up a bottle of this about 15 years ago at a stop-and-rob north of London on my way back from the RAF museum.

    From L to R:
    Saugatuck Brewing Bonfire Brown
    Upper Hand Sisu Stout
Grand Armory Brewing Year Round Brown
    Oddside Reinoso

Can received in BIF 16 from @russpowell

New brewery , new beer , very cool can graphics

Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass results in a cranberry colored translucent liquid with a one finger off-white foam cap. Recedes quickly to islands and rings with spotty lacings

Aroma is if faint sour fruits

Taste is slightly tart …I guess hibiscus…haven’t had much hibiscus in my life except for gardens and tea

    Medium mouthfeel, gentle tartness

    Nice beer, thanks Russ

    Lady and Gentlemen,
    Greetings from longa absentia.
I am sorry for trying to add a little chaos to the fun and then simply disappearing for weeks on end. As you must have noticed by now, even though I started giving clues, I was not technically a participant. When it was assumed that I was a participant, I went with that with the intention of throwing out a few clues that were applicable to numerous participants (one of whom figured his clues out quicker than I anticipated- way to go @kemoarps ), and hitting all of them in a timely manner. Reminds me of the old country song, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions. And Mama, my intentions were the best."

Basically a few unconnected chains of events came together and chaos (not the fun kind we normally wallow in here) ensued. A very serious mental health crisis peaked for a loved one a few weeks back and we're trying to find an equilibrium there. And a series of other illnesses just complicated things among all of us in the support network.

So I do apologize for dropping off, and 3 of you will soon be receiving a box of SoCal freshness. I hope to be able to elaborate on some of the comedy that ensued in trying to score some of these freshies from Kern River Brewing. While some of the delays were frustrating, their approach to remedying a retail experience were top shelf.

I look forward to bantering with you all soon.

    Derek

Enjoy, more will come in a couple weeks, including at least one from Vivant that you haven’t rated and a couple from breweries not yet rated by you yet.

New brewery for me courtesy of @Beersnake1

Brewers Notes: A delicate soft Lager, authentic to the west coast of the Czech Republic.

Huh! A coast is a land mass adjacent to a body of water . I guess Germany and France have been moved into the Atlantic Ocean

Canned 10.10, opened 11.22, poured into a Spiegelau ipa glass, clear golden liquid, active carbonation streams , fluffy two finger white foam cap, , good retention , settles yo a mounded island , spotty lacings

    Aroma is clean, grassy

    Taste is grassy ,

Mouthfeel is low sudsing sweet , clean, crisp

    Good beer

Not sure I'm a rockstar of any kind. I do know that right now I am an airport employee who is deeply unamused by the size of flakes coming down during Thanksgiving week, in a place where things stayed too cold for snow for the better part of a month, but is now changing things up for, apparently, the sake of more fucking holiday chaos.

In other words, beer will definitely be drunk tonight after work!

Absolutely agree! When you walk up the hill from the biergarten toward the actual brewery, you can smell the smoke! Further up the hill is the biergarten for Brauerei Spezial, also a specialist in smoked beers, but lighter than Heller-Traum.
