Happy Thanksgiving @Beersnake1 , yes, you have a brother. Your mother and I were going to wait until Christmas to let you know but decided that thanksgiving is for bringing families together. We will move the bunk beds into your room. Please don’t touch your brothers drum set

Think I might have eaten too much today, but aside from the collard greens it was all really good.
Chess, pecan and pumpkin pies for dessert.

    Happy Thanksgiving all!

Séance, a rye imperial stout aged in bourbon and peated whiskey barrels. 12% ABV. Collaboration between Bottleworks, Ravenna, and Full Throttle. Great stout! Tons of tobacco, peat, dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, and bourbon. Nice layer of rye spice as well. Thanks to Kestrel (@kemoarps ) for this one!

Excellent clear, golden yellow body; moderate carbonation visible; relatively thin head, white and frothy. Malty nose with a bit of dank weediness in the background. Delicious flavor; bready, biscuit-like malt base; herbaceous herbal note; moderate hop bitterness. Medium-light body; crisp; gently dry overall.

A delightful, balanced and decently complex west coast styled India pale ale.

Just got back from my mom's house outside Philly to find an amazing LIF box from @Coronaeus

    First up, the bottles
    [IMG]
    Left to right:
Dieu Du Ciel - Peche Mortel (Dulce De Leche) - Imperial Stout with dulce de leche
Dieu Du Ciel - Peche Mortel (Kumquat) - Imperial Stout with Kumquats
Barncat Artisan Ales - BA Rat Queen - BBA Imperial Stout
Burdock - Vinus Ricco - Blend of mixed-ferm saisons aged with apricots, then barrel aged for a year before blending with Niagara Gewurtraminer

    And the cans:
    Left to Right:
Muddy York Brewing - Jail Fire - Rauchbier
Godspeed Brewery- Buh Specialni Edice - Czech Lager
The Establishment Brewing Company - Catching Smoke - Grodziskie
Bellwoods Brewery - Hellwoods - Imperial Stout
Cabin Brewing Company - Wanderlust - Festbier
Godspeed Brewery - Tmavy Lezak 12 - Dark Lager
Left Field Brewery - Schlager - Marzen

Peter, as always, your taste is impeccable. This all looks INCREDIBLE and all are right in my wheelhouse. Can't thank you enough. The benefit of these sitting by my front door for an hour or two before I got home is that they are nice and cool. I'll be cracking one over in the NBW thread shortly before heading to a friends house to watch the USMNT take on England.

Cheers and good luck against the Three Lions!

I remember seeing a post you made recently about liking smoked beer. The Grodziskie is from my recent trip out to Calgary and I found to be enjoyable. The Rauchbier I’ve had previous versions of, and always enjoyed. That Vinus Ricco is about 2 years cellared. Burdock are beer/wine hybrid specialists, and this one has revived some good reviews by friends of mine.

    Cheers!

Hazy, tangerine yellow-orange body; thick, rocky head with sharp cuts of foam; huge, sticky sheets and legs of foam inside the glass. Nice aroma; pungent Nelson Sauvin nose; grape skin; earthy melon. Nicely balanced taste; cantaloupe and grape must; subliminal oat-like flavor; moderate overall bitterness. Medium-heavy mouthfeel; smooth and velvety; semi-juicy with a slow-developing dryness towards the finish.

A very nice, easy drinking hazy India pale ale featuring 100% Nelson Sauvin hops.

From a ninja box courtesy of @jonphisher

Tonewood Focal Point - Czech Pilsner - 3.8% abv - canned Sept 2022

Pours a foggy light golden, soapy head, some lingering spotty lacing. Smells as expected - spicy floral hops and a bit of bready malt. Flavor is dialed in - peppery herbal hops, bit of lemony citrus, slightly grassy, and just enough maltiness to stand up to the bitter finish. Medium carb, and a tiny bit heavier body that I was expecting. Finish is clean and crisp.

I'm a bit spoiled in the Czech pilsner department since I can get Moonlight Reality Czeck down at the grocery store whenever I want it, but this Tonewood beer is a great representation of the style. Slightly more bitter and heavier in body than Reality Czeck, but I'm a fan of bitterness so don't mind that at all. Overall, a great lager from Jersey. Thanks, Jon!

And another for today, from @superspak :

Fonta Flora Carolina Gold - "lagered saison brewed with heritage rice" - 5.2% abv - can dated 05/25/2021

Pours a hazy pale golden, quickly disappearing minimal white head, no lacing. Aromas of spices, lemony citrus. Flavor is herbal tea, orange, lemon, cloves, pepper, sweet malt. High carb, medium body, lingering sweetness, soft with only a hint of bitterness.

This would have made an interesting mystery beer. The flavor has some unexpected notes that I can't quite describe. Body is a bit heavier and sweeter than expected, although I suppose I've never had a rice lager brewed with saison yeast before, so I don't really have a point of comparison. Definitely a new one for me! Thanks, Ian!
