Yes the fact that it was Nutterzzzzz kind of puts a bow on the whole story.

Wow, that's right! The original story was more than enough but this extra mystery was almost X-Files territory. Strange happenings indeed! I may need to go back and re-read that entire thread.

Nice salvo @colts9016 - question though - what is the bottle to the right of the Rusty Nail?

Fort George Matryoshka, a bourbon and whiskey barrel-aged imperial stout. Definitely saving that for a special occasion.

A couple more boxes out for delivery

Need to find the time to finish up the other two boxes and get them outbound. Maybe won't ship this week, but should at least get them packaged.

If anyone gets a box from me...be careful when opening it! I don't want more blood on my hands!

Its the #1 trending beer on BA and seems to be well received, but it is 3F - so I'm sure that goes into it. I wanted you to get a chance to try it without knowing what it was. Glad you enjoyed it!

Well, continuing a trend around here, I also suffered a BIF-related injury involving blood yesterday, although nowhere near as serious as @jonphisher 's.

This injury also involves a callback to earlier in this very thread!

So waaaaaay back when (I'd say at least four years ago), I got a bottle of Dave's Coffee Syrup as a "local food item." Pretty sure @tasterschoice62 was my sender.

I was trying to clear some space on my fridge door shelves (I have a lot of hot sauces!), and decided, "You know what? I think I can safely part with this one at this point." After dumping out what little liquid remained, I found a number of medium sized sugar crystals inside (they looked like glass), and some crystallized sludge at the bottom.

I did what I could, then filled the bottle with hot water and let it sit in the sink, hoping to perhaps melt some of the crystals. I'm big on recycling, and if I could get this thing cleaned out, it would be better than tossing it directly into the trash.

After dumping out the water, there were a bunch of crystals left, so I picked it up to show my partner. Unbeknownst to me, the entire bottom of the bottle stayed behind in the sink - like, it completely sheered off while sitting there, without the bottle shifting at all. I felt a little something in my hand, and was like, "Huh. Was there something stuck to the bottom?"

That's when I saw the glass bottom sitting there in the sink, mocking me. I cut my hand on a four-plus-year-old broken glass bottle of Dave's Coffee Syrup. :unamused:

I have not. Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge.

That's right!!! I never did get to try that beer lol. :grinning: I greatly appreciated your entirely unnecessary and out-of-the-blue attempt to replace it, too.

What is wrong with us? How do we reverse the curse? and more importantly whose next????? Be careful everyone BIF is out for blood.

I'm thinking we need to crush some more porches. Sling some beer around the country. Glass bottles of it! We shall not be cowed by a little curse!
Oh, and buy some band-aids if you are running low, never hurts to be prepared.

By chance did you pour the hot water from a hot pot? Like considerably hotter than tap water? I did something similar once when mixing hot coco for someone and the glass neatly sheared at where the water met the powder. Thermal expansion restrained has interesting consequences! Glad you were not seriously hurt! Mine just made a big mess, no blood involved.

No, it was from the tap ... but our tap water runs very hot. I'm always concerned about hot water into glass; I think in this case, it was probably the expansion of all the crystals pushing against the glass, rather than the glass itself (sounds like what happened to you, as well).
