Until we name a BIF round after @jonphisher 's injury, I think I'm still the leader in the clubhouse.

For those not in the know, the Rocket Balls round was named after a box I received from @JayORear (or was it @Dimidiata ? I think it was Jay) when I was in Georgia, and it included some fruited sours along with the typical assortment of IPAs. As I was taking the beers out of the box, I would put them on the kitchen table - really, a fairly small four-person octagonal dinette table, probably just around waist height (I'm short, though).

The offending can (allegedly; nothing was ever proven about the can in a court of law) was a bit dented on the bottom, IIRC, so I laid it on its side. About a half heartbeat later, the top exploded open ... the top that was pointed directly away from me.

Physics happened, and the can shot off the table directly into my crotch. Direct hit. Couldn't have planned it better. Unpacking the rest of the beer was put on hold for a good 20-30 minutes. But no emergency room, at least, so I got off lighter than Jon, I think.

So, yeah: some of us send ninja strikes or porch bombs. And some of us send actual ninja bombs in our porch strikes (cleverly disguised as delicious beer).

I'm drinking this one now courtesy of @budsNpils :

Dylan, help a brother out! This is a rotating varietal SMASH IPA. Which one is it? There is an entry for "Zythophile Astronaut," which says it's Nectaron hops, but there's a separate entry for Zythophile Nectaron, and all the other ones have the hop listed (I can't tell for certain if Astronaut is simply part of the proper full name).

I'd say Zythophile nectaron. Idk why someone added astronaut like that. Like 1 of the recent smash variants also had a cowboy riding a hop cone. Never seen Zythophile cowboy.

Those can be tricky since thier rotational. Sometimes I have to email Lone Pint. Which btw they are very friendly if you have any questions. Makes liking Lone Pint even that much more easier.

Edit: I'm at total and it does say astronaut on the price label so maybe that's where they got that. Idk

I honestly cannot recall; I suspect it was Trillium, but I'm really not sure. @JayORear has a slight chance of remembering, I suppose.

Dang, that's quite the story. I will avoid the consequences of Newton's Third Law and never place a can within striking distance :astonished:. I'm assuming you didn't have any kids after BIF 11?

Looking at the evidence. You may have left one more treat in the box! Another food related item in a glass bottle. Hope it made it safely!

glad youre excited for the taffy and hope that lineup of beers adds to your fun! I tried to round up a smattering of other Connecticut breweries for you plus some other regional treats
