Nugget plays well in combo w/ other hops, yes.

I'll agree to disagree on the nugget.

What is the IBU with that many ounces in the whirlpool? I've been trying to read up on hop utilization percentage in whirlpool but there is a lot of convoluted information out there.

whirpool combined with dry hop gets me around 65-70 ibu. There is def a bitterness to my neipa, but its very smooth and it doesn't linger.

Yeah, nugget has high linalool content, so it wold be good to add for bio transformations that will give floral aroma.

How do you calculate that IBU? I can't seem to find a solid answer to whirlpool utilization..a few articles I've read have said it's pretty much 0% under 170-180 degrees...so confusing! :grimacing::stuck_out_tongue:

@Prep8611 Have you had Troeggs Nugget Nectar? It’s pretty good. I think they classify as an amber but it’s loaded with hops.

Of course I buy one sixer a year of nugget nectar. I get little citrus from that beer. It's pine and more pine at the forefront for me.

IIRC, Nugget Nectar is bittered with Nugget, and they use some late, but most of the late and dry hops are Simcoe and Columbus

Other Half has a Cashmere Pale Ale that I really liked. Think maybe it’s good by itself but might get dominated by others when mixed

My favorite combo so far is Vic Secret, Mosaic, and Galaxy. Small magnum bitter charge at 60. Whirlpool and Heavy dry hop only. Do half the hops during active and other half at completion. Great results. Subbed in Citra for the galaxy(couldn’t get any) for the one I have going now.

YVH should have Galaxy. Just popped a keg with that same combo, yeast is the next puzzle.

And looking back on this post, Bru-1 were not all that great, wired melon/mint/hearbal. But that was my experience with them.
