Greetings lager lauders and real ale revelers!

Hope this Sunday finds you ready for a new day with some new beer in your glass.

Weather in Central OH is crazy warm. Mid-60's and raining. Seems quite odd to be enjoying Celebration with non-Celebration temps. Dug into a sixer of Dale's Pale Ale this week which is relatively new to these parts. Felt right given our recent temps.

Whatever the weather is like in your area and whatever you are doing today I hope you have a chance to sample a new beer. Please share your stories here! Kindly paste your linked review or a good description. Pics are always welcome to enhance the "virtual pint sharing" experience.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. Good day and good drinkin'.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

I am considering opening either my FW XVI, BCBS Cherry, or BCBS Coffee. I don't think I can go wrong, but it's a tough decision nonetheless.

    Greetings!

Super-foggy morning here on the long island off the east coast. White haze and clouds. 'Taint the right temp, though - oughtta be freezing, instead its practically balmy.
Great day to watch football - via the NFL Redzone channel (Jets expected to win a game? Whaaaat?) - and listen to some Therion. Their new album, Les Fleurs du Mal, is entirely in French, consisting of covers of French songs from the mid-to-late 60's. I'm totally addicted.
Tonight: Dexter and Walking Dead. Good TV.

Got a bottle of Hellhound for later, but, hey, this is New Beer Sunday...

I liked it. Sweet with some pineapple tartness - a nice drink for a cloudy day with Christmas lights and football.

    And there ya have it.

    Good day, all - cheers!

    Hello all!

Going to watch football with neighbors this afternoon. Before going out I reviewed a new beer - an Amber Ale. Nothing special, but not bad.

Planning on reviewing the brewery's IPA later today.

    Cheers!

Got in at 3:00 last night after breaking down A/V for a fundraising gala for a local charity, ugghh, through the pea soup fog no less, and now off to shopping for myself, and for trades. Hope to run into some of the newer GI or FW or some Evil Twin Lil B supposed to be on hold for me, and later to sample of them vigorously, and report.

    ***New Kölsch Sunday!!!

Top of the morning to you all, the rest of the day to me.

I picked up a Growler of another Lander Brewing beer and for the style, I think it's a dandy:

    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13447/58544/?ba=Bitterbill

Delicate, yet flavourful. That's what, imho, the style is all about.

    Cheers!

New Euro Dark Lager APA Sunday

    Greetings to all NBSer's,

Feels a lot like late February here with the sun angle and waking to fog. But alas, it is still early December, albeit very nice weather. Still trying to get the varmint that is tunneling up my yard. If the weather holds out, maybe I'll get lucky.
'Was gonna' do a dark czech lager today, but the brewery seems a bit of a mystery and there is nothing registered for it here on BA. A few seem to have reviewed it but not in the proper place. I'll figure out what I'm gonna' do with it later.
Anyway, I"ll go more local with an Iowa beer (breweries are springing up there almost as quickly as in MN). A good and solid APA that is a fine drinker for any season. It can be bought in these here parts of MN, but if in the Quad Cities search it out (or the Am. Stout) and you'll be happy.

    Best to all this week.

My second new, local beer today was pleasantly surprising. Did not expect to like it as much as I did. Lucid Foto:

Nice they moved to 12oz bottles instead of stupid, expensive bombers. I will definately be buying more of their beer now.

I had 3 new beers today. Local brewery Top of the Hill put on 3 new beers this week, so I went and had some of each.

    First was the Cran-Apple Wheat.

It smelled almost lindemans fruity, but the taste was an average American Wheat (I hate Am. Wheat yeast flavors) but the Cranberry and Apple flavors are subtle, hiding just enough of the awful wheat flavors to make it a decent beer. Nothing Id seek out, but Id get it again.

Next is their ESB. It was exactly what Id expect from an ESB. Nothing really special. Low ABV, drinkable, hint of British yeast coming through.

Last, I had their Imperial Stout (Lewis Black Imp Stout) on nitro. It was a bit too cold at first, the bubbles were trying to cascade and whatnot, but it just couldnt. They just stayed there, continually cascading. Light roast, more of a roast heavy milk stout. Super creamy and smooth with a nice drinkability.

    New American IPA Sunday

Managed to head to the local bottle shop and grab Fat Head's Headhunter IPA!

    Woot!

Columbus IPA is still my fave but this is right up there.

Turns out I'll have another new one which will be review #700 for me later today.

    Cheers!

    New IPA Sunday

My second beer of the day was also from Henry Weinhard's. It's decent enough - nothing special. I had not had anything from this brewery before this weekend, and this is the third of the three available at the local store. I think I'm seeing a trend with this brewery.

    New Gueuze

Happy NBS everyone! Just finished a bottle of Cincinnati's finest Geuze (well, it's the only one I know of made there): http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22157/87241/?ba=bluejacket74

I thought it was a nice brew, but I liked Rivertown's other sour beers better. I should have another review on here later today.

    Cheers!

    Happy NBS to all...
It was cloudy and cool (low 50's) here on Long Island today. I put up the Christmas lights outside this morning and then watched some football.
Although it really didn't feel too wintery today I drank this beer anyway...

New American Scotch Ale Sunday (week 406)

Greetings NBS'ers. Uh oh techinically not a new beer, but if you don't have enough tastes to review and never bought any? Fog has burned off, shopping done, plumbing done, this beer is so fucking good, drinking it alone, as in not a small taste within many other beers. Glad I have 11 more in the cellar.

Hope you also have a Great American Beer in your glass. Cheers!

Haha, I wonder how much better this beer would have been if it wasn't 1,000 years old?

You will have to read the review to see what I mean.

    New Old Ale

This is my last new beer of the evening. Surprisingly I've never had Great Divide Hibernation Ale before. I liked it a lot, I'll have to buy more of it now: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/158/1446

I'll likely put up the pics of my brews later on today's "What Are You Drinking" Thread.

    Cheers!
