I think that I started my post before Daniel but got interrupted by my daughter and did not post it for a while (I had checked and there were no articles when I started mine).

OK. I don't know these folks, but I do know there's great potential for new local ventures like this. It looks like it will be a really fun spot! It is encouraging to see such a real commitment, and from what I glean, these will be some really good beers. I hope so. I would suspect that there will be more and varied local additions to the modern brewing scene continuing. Cheers all.

Greensboro is like the last spot in the are without a local brewery. Shit, most have 2 by now.

Natty Greene's is pretty local (an anchor on Elm St). Also, whether you or anybody else likes or dislikes Natty, they are true pioneers in the modern craft explosion- well ahead of the herd. Same can be said for Red Oak, which is now actually in Whitsett, just out of town. Red Oak was a genuine pioneer with it's brew pub at Guilford College way back in the 90s. Fear not, more on the way.

And the same for Liberty in HP.

True. There was also a fellow back in the 80s who set up a brewery in an old Bestway location on Vandalia Rd- I cannot remember his name- but he made excellent beer and was way ahead of his time (Turtle something, I believe, was the name of the brewery). He might have been a dreamer, but he was no charlatan.

True. I always seem to just associate Natty Greene's with Raleigh, and forget about the production facility/pub in Greensboro.

That would be perfect. Big turtle logo and German-style specialty beers. If it's not copyrighted, I'm in!
