Great storm has already started serving with a "soft opening", this Saturday is their Grand Opening at 6pm
Great Storm in Colorado Springs 'officially' opens this Saturday. They've been kinda open for a week now. Their Belgian Strong Ale is fantastic.
City Star Brewing 321 Mountain Ave Berthoud CO 80513 Not much info but they should be open in April or so.
Also Hogshead and Three Saints both have licenses to brew, just awaiting construction/renovation of their buildings. And correction on my OP, it's TRVE
Hey Guys, Saw this thread and thought I would update you on the happenings at Elevation. We have our tasting room grand opening planned for May 19th, as well as the bottle release of our first Black Diamond Series Apis IV, (Dark Belgian Strong) that day. Should have 2-3 bands and a couple food trucks as well as 8 beers on tap at the brewery. We will have our Blue Series, First Cast (West Coast IPA) and Mount Blanca (Colorado Saison) available in April in Chaffee County, as well as a few specialities around town. Hope to see you all here and so excited to try all these other breweries in CO. Cheers. The Elevation Team.
Hey Domingo, We will be hitting Denver in June with bottles and draft of Apis IV, and Signal De Botrange, thanks for asking! Cheers. The Elevation Team.
To start with, but we will eventually be in the market for a Front Range Distributor. Cheers. The Elevation Team
Yeah, that's what I've read. They're still moving forward, but just doing it on their own a bit slower. They got some of their licenses taken care of recently and I know they have some of their equipment. Here's their blog: http://blackshirtbrewingco.blogspot.com/ I think what they're doing is pretty interesting. They've got a niche idea and they're going all-in with it. Lately I've had a think for simple straight forward reds and ambers, so I'm pretty eager to try their stuff.
What exactly is the idea? I get its something with ambers/reds but their sites didn't seem to offer up too much informaton on them.
From what I've read, they're essentially only making red ales using local CO ingredients, but with different spins on the idea. Different hops/yeast/etc. I know there's more to it, but that's the gist. I guess they have made a pilot standard American red that is supposed to be to die for.
Sounds awesome. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the recent fad of amber/red fused pale Ales like Odell's Red, Deschutes Red Chair and would love to check out different spins on a red/amber. Hope things work out for them and they can a quick opening because I am ready for whatever they have to offer.
Talked with Branden through email. Insanely nice. I hope they are able to get this off the ground soon!
The VSP Pub and Brewery got everything in order just a few minutes ago. They're now able to brew and do growler fills.
I wonder if there will be any legal challenges from other breweries with multiple breweries &/or multiple retail locations - Breckenridge, Miller Molson Coors, Wynkoop, Yak & Yeti, etc.?
I think Vine Street's biggest issue was neighborhood zoning. That shouldn't be an issue for the other breweries since they already have established locations.
While they had an issue with the hood about the zoning change for their brewing operation and for the height exemption to add a second story to the "back room" to accommodate the large brewing equipment, their latest battle was with the state regulations concerning the "brewed on site rule" to sell beer to go.
Wasn't that due to the fact that they weren't actually brewing on site? I think now that they are brewing on site, they can sell beer to go.
This is true. The "catch" was how to sell growlers of, say, Kind at the Boulder locations, since all that is to be brewed at VSP/B. Paul tried to explain it to me, but I was drinking and I'm kinda slow (well, not slow drinking). It would be interesting to see how that's all set up
Just rumors I've heard: 2 new (soon) breweries in Ft. Collins: Black Bottle--kinda near Old Town Cactus Bend (?)--more southish
Black Bottle will be opening in the summer sometime http://www.fermentedlychallenged.com/search?q=Black+Bottle Im not so sure that Cactus Bend will be opening.
Black Bottle shooting for August opening, closest brewery to my house. 1.5 miles, I sure love Ft. Collins!
Oh just re-reading this but there is one that is missing High Hops 6462 HWY 392 Windsor, CO 80550 They have a building but not sure where they are at in the process
Howdy, I think the following *could* open by Father's Day: Black Shirt, Denver - active on Facebook but not much detail on their opening date; Hogshead, Denver - I suspect no news is bad news in their case; Prost, Denver - last month I heard "mid May", but that's only 1 work week away, so ...?; TRVE, Denver - as above; Sud's Brothers, Fruita - a month ago they said "very soon" but the "very" part was incorrect; Loveland Ale Works, Loveland - a window tour a week ago looked like a week or more to go. If you have firm dates for a soft &/or grand opening for any of the above, please let us know! Not open by or in June would be: Black Bottle, Fort Collins - late July to mid August; Cactus Bend, Fort Collins - has no building, so I'd think Labor Day at the earliest; High Hops, Windsor - mid August to Labor Day. Cheers & Fresh Beers, Roger, retiring Colorado Craft Brewery lister
