That's awesome, although I read it with slight hesitation - aside from a few of these that I know are pros, I just got this overwhelming feeling that a WHOLE lot of homebrewers now think they can go pro. But alas, we all start from somewhere, right?

EDIT: BUT on the huge positive, I read the World Beer Cup winners for Colorado and a lot of new breweries I need to check out that I wasn't aware of :grinning:

Anyone know of any newer breweries in the Junction area? Wanting to find new brews other while visiting one of my favorites, Palisade Brewing.

My go-to in that area is Copper Club in Fruita. Give it a shot if you haven't been there!

Lots of Colorado names in World Beer Cup winner list, which is cool. I also applaud all those folks taking the leap by opening a new brewery and it is nice to see some new spots in new spots, e.g., Pueblo West.

But...I agree with you. I'm afraid the market (while continuing to grow) is becoming that much more competitive. Breweries can't just coast for a year or two while they dial in their homebrew recipes for commercial production.

They aren't new, but they are new to me and I haven't seen anyone talking about them: Industrial Revolution in Erie is doing some really nice things. Tried all 8 of the beers they had and didn't find a glaring issue with any of them. Standouts were a blonde stout, a vanilla porter, and some sort of German ale. Nothing to seek out quite yet IMO but they're currently expanding their brew house I hear.

If the number of churches going up in Littleton were breweries......I'd be so damn happy.

I like Kannah Creek in GJ. Their beers are VERY much old school (pale, weizen, amber, stout, blonde, etc.) but they're excellent examples of those styles. The food's good, too.

In terms of all of the new breweries, I simply don't have time to visit most of them. At one time I'd been to all but a handful. Now that would be a full-time job. These days I need a particular style or niche to rope me in. Either that or a brewer that I know has made beers I dig in the past. Red flags would be anyone who has a flagship Koelsch or Alt.

Have you tried their sours that they are producing? I have not personally, but I'm interested to see how their ventures into more "contemporary" styles (barrel aged, sours, etc) turn out.

All I know is that Demise of Ivan is a great BA Imp Stout, especially for $13 a bomber

The Cooper Class in Fruita was a great spot. Kannah Creek at Edgewater was a great location and their beer was on point. Got a few bombers to go, can't wait to try them. Thank everyone for the recommendations.

Kannah Creek is also very tasty, and the pizza rocks. The potato skins are also very tasty.

    Cheers!

I've had some of Rockslide's brews at the Ale House, also pretty tasty. Need to visit them as well. Also need to hit up Suds Brothers in Fruita.

    Cheers!

Does Weldwerks count as new? I think they have been open for 15 months now. The beers they make are pretty rad. I just wish Greeley was closer to I-25!

Not really a new brewery per se, but I'm checking out the Prost location in Fort Collins right now and its really cool- definitely a German beer hall vibe with big tables and stuff.

Have only tried their dopplebock previously, and enjoying the heck out of the maibock. I'll probably be back sooner than later..

We hit Rock Cut yesterday. They definitely hit the ground running with their beers. All (I had 5) were good with no flaws. Could use a bit of tweaking here and there, but overall a nice job. Space is small, but cozy. Just a bit off the beaten path at the end of the river walk (across from Estes Park brewing), but walkable.

Had a Lumpy Ridge beer at a local restaurant up there. Hope it was old, b/c it was bland.
