Yeah, I finally made it over there on Friday. Huge, beautiful space that was pretty darn busy at happy hour with cars parked all down the street. Didnt think a new place in Golden would be so busy, but I guess the good reputation of Coda and Mountain Toad (i understand that the founders of NT come from MT and the brewer from Coda, but could be wrong) has helped get people in the door.

I liked the ambience, thought the beer was promising but OK at best. Had their Lost IPA (awesome tropical notes but an unpleasant bitterness) and the gose (nothing to write home about). Good start, and I'll follow what they're doing since I work nearby.

The older IPAs from Coda all had a pretty harsh bitterness that I never was a fan of. I suppose now we'll see where the two founders tastes differ.

Cheluna Brewing opens today in the Stanley Marketplace @ 5pm. Stopped by there a couple hours ago and it's a cool spot. The rest of the marketplace is still a couple months away from being fully open.

Cheluna is definitely on my list of places I need to hit up. Gotta support the A-town breweries, and it sounds like they're doing things right.

Just came on here to post about Cheluna opening. Guess I got beat to the punch. I saw they're gonna have one Mexican lager at least. I really hope they branch out into a couple of them (Vienna, etc.). I miss Del Norte. Can't wait to check them out.

wonder if that's a reference to my favorite Joe Ely song:

Left my home out on the great high plains
    Lookin' for some NEW TERRAIN
Standin' on the highway with my coffee cup
Wonderin' who was gonna pick me up

I had my hopes up high
    I never thought that I
Would ever wonder why I ever said goodbye
I had my hopes up high

You should definitely go there and ask. Maybe it's a secret game that when someone guesses right they get a free pint.

I got into Cheluna on Sunday evening. Was really digging the coconut chocoloate "porter" -- not really true to style but delicious. German chocolate cake thing going on. My wife is a saison connoisseur and thought it was on point.

Owner is a big soccer fan (Rapids and Int'l) and wouldn't mind catering to a soccer loving crowd. Also plan on doing a lot with home brewers.

Knowing they were pushing the envelope a bit to get beers ready for open I have high confidence they're going to be a better brewery option in town. They've been advised by the team at Spangalang on all aspects of operation which is a good group to learn from.

Mash Lab Brewing in Windsor CO is doing a soft opening December 15th at 4pm. There should be about 8ish beers on tap. Cream ale, Porter, Milk Stout, Peanut Butter Milk Stout, 2 IPA's, Strawberry wheat, Citra Pale, maybe more. Windows look directly into Pinkees Hot Rod. Come check it out!

Vision Quest in Boulder is nestled between Wild Woods and Finkel & Garf. The "tasting room" is a cleared out section of a garage next to their homebrew shop. We had their coffee porter and Laws-aged chocolate imperial stout. Both were respectable beers. I would have liked more than 3 months in the Laws barrel, but the base beer was good, lots of chocolate, as advertised.
It's worth a stop in if you're already in the area.

I noticed the other day that The Old Mill in downtown Littleton was closed and a new sign is up that says 'Cliffhangers Brewery'. Not open yet and haven't really looked into it much.

Cliffhangers opened up in October 2015 and closed within 3 months.

They've been open awile and they've done a lot of good beers. Just a couple blocks away is Kettle and Spoke a new brewery in a bicycle shop. Easy to hit both places!

Wild! I was checking on an account and doing some cold calls in downtown Littleton last week and saw the Cliffhangers sign on the old Columbine Mill/5280/The Old Mill building.

I thought it was a "coming soon!" not a "been and gone"...

The Old Mill had probably the worst reputation of any CO brewery I can think of. At least beer-wise. Only Ironworks might be close, and their reputation is a bit more "divey" and unwelcoming than lousy.
