Except I'm going to Lord Hobo, and was responding simply for myself.

Would I personally wait for hours and hours for an event? Probably not. An hour for lunch, sure.

You too! From the thread last year, you're wearing a trucker hat or something correct? Maybe our groups can meet up!

Did anyone get an email from HF yet, one way or the other?

Got the silent treatment from HF, but my brother got the "winning" email around 2 hours ago. Ah well...

Nay, I have conflicting plans that day. Considering getting down to Alewife/Spuyten to clean up the leftovers later in the day though

Does anybody know if the growler line at zwanze day at HF is a shitshow, headed up for zwanze and was wondering if it would be a nightmare to get growler fills, with reg business and zwanze traffic.

Last year was the first Zwanze day HF had an event, and IIRC the retail shop was closed to the public and they were only selling bottles, no growler fills. So it wasn't really an issue. I am surprised to read that they are having the retail shop open for normal operations this year, but thats what the website says.

We do the same thing every year. No tickets. 1st come 1st serve. We do however, offer a 2nd tasting at 6. The Zwanze keg is 30 liters, or 168 six oz pours. We can hold 115ish people, so we keep roughly 40 glasses for those who are unable to make it for the 3 pm toast.

We are open at 11 am. As others have said, last year there were roughly 30 people in line at 10am, and when doors opened at 11 I believe everyone got a seat.

It's a fun day in general.

    Cheers

And you guys let people camp out for 4+ hours?

They do better than that. They serve you terrific brunch food and the draft/bottle list is appropriately amazing for the occasion.

In seriousness, yes, they know 90+% of people that morning are there for Zwanze. I guess it would be impolite to just sit there drinking water and taking up a seat for four hours, but nobody does that. Too much great stuff on offer.

Exactly. It's a bar, I don't understand what the issue would be. It's not like it's a restaurant only and you're taking up a table for 4 hours. If you're eating food and then buying rounds the entire time, I don't see why a bar would have an issue. I spend 4 hours in a bar all the time.

Has anyone receieved a second round email from HF Zwanze? Im guessing the lower price and no DD requirements means well see less tickets popping up than FOFA :/

I don't believe there is a second round and the number of tickets is way less than the FOFA.

i realize we are still a couple weeks out but what are the odds parker pie will be hosting an after party for the zwanze day event?

i'm debating booking a B&B in west glover on saturday to keep drive times to a minimum if that is the case...otherwise i'll just stay in waterbury fri + sat.

also fyi - there are only 2 rooms left at the best western and old stagecoach is fully booked. i guess i'm late to the party....

I was wondering if anyone was driving up to the Hill Farmstead event from the Burlington area and would have extra room? Totally up for whatever plans before/after/etc, just need a way to get up there and eventually back. Would of course help with any costs. I also have an extra ticket if that makes a difference. Just message me and let me know, would be extremely grateful. Recently relocated and one of the few oddballs who manages to live up here without a car, hah. Thanks!

Just saw all the awesome pic's of the bottles on Hobo's Facebook page. Will those be fair game at 11 or do all the special beers come out only after 3? Not sure I can make it later on.

Looks like I'll be swinging by Atwood's for the Idelhands Brewing 3rd Anniversary Party/O-fest before heading over to Lord Hobo ... this is going to be a glorious day if it all works out.

I think this is a better way to go ... as they said only about 30 people showed at 11am, later things get crazy but then they have more to pour at 6pm as well. Could not think of a better way to do it IMO.

Seems like more than 100 now. If you haven't left yet to get to Lord H. then you probably won't get in. People standing at the end of the line probably won't get in.

Yeah, best bet at this point is to show up to Hobo after the first pour at 3. Usually clears out quick after that.

So for those of us in line or hoping to get in later, what's on tap? How much $$ for some of those bottles?

Not really, unless they got drastically more this year. They usually have other cool stuff to offer (vintage bottles of stuff, etc.), but Cantillon stuff usually gets gobbled up by early afternoon/evening.
