I really enjoyed this thread from 2020. I found it both useful for finding out about certain beer store finds and entertaining sharing our thoughts about certain brews.

Had a couple cans of Tonewood Blackbird over the weekend and really enjoyed them. Smooth roasted malt flavor. Very light in body, bordering on thin, but then I realized it's only 4% ABV so it makes sense. I'll write a proper review when I finish up the 4-pack but my initial impression of it is great.

Any thoughts from the collective on Bonesaw? Ive had a couple of their beers and thought they were good, they seemed to get a lot of chatter before COVID and then it got quiet

I found two different IPAs at a local store a month or so ago and I thought both were good. Worth buying but didn’t stand out.

    I did side by
I’m a big fan of their beer personally recently I thoroughly enjoyed cheer, their winter seasonal.

Shore Town the helles was one of my most memorables beers from this past summer, haven’t seen since late summer so I’m guessing it’s seasonal.

They brew well balanced tasty beers. Just one mans opinion...

Edit: This weekend I also tried le grand demon (rum barrel golden Belgian strong ale)which was a really cool beer. Super unique and tasty. I also have their barrel aged stout, didn’t open yet.

Taking inspiration from Bierstadt is a step in the right direction, and doesn't hurt to be part of The Best New Breweries in New Jersey – 2020 Edition

Just had a Double Standard from Magnify. Pilsner. Not quite as clean/refreshing as the top pilsner/lagers but was pretty good! Think it was $12 for the 4pk so not a bad bargain all things considered, would recommend it.

That was a beer that was making me think of stopping by the brewery. Did you get it here or at the store? I’ve seen a few of their non flagship beers make their way to the stores lately.

Awesome! Hope this becomes a regular thing. I picked up some Palmovka 12⁰ while in NY a few weeks ago. Really nice Czech-style Pils.

Might order to see how it compares to the recent one from Kane.

Any recommendations / suggestions for good barleywines available around Central Jersey? Of course Kane makes great barleywines, but I rarely see any shelfie barleywines.

I've had and enjoyed Jacks Abby's Barleywine Lager and I often see Weyerbacher's Blithering Idiot, but I see very little beyond what I've mentioned.

    Thanks in advance.

Very good question. I’m waiting for Vengeful Heart myself (speaking of Kane), which is one of if not my favorite. Don’t see DFH Olde School anymore or Stone Guardian or Victory Old Horizontal. Maybe Flying Dog? You’re near Ashton I think - they recently released a six pack of barleywine. I was considering getting it for the colder months.

Yep, I am near Ashton. Was thinking of snagging their Barleywine next paycheck. They've impressed me with most styles, so I'm hopeful.

    Czig Meister's Habonde is solid.

i too have been looking more at Barleywines recently and theyre few and far between, Recenlty has Forest and Main Court Etiquette and thought very highly of it, English with a nice sweetnesss to it. Course its not a shelfie either but made me want to find similar ones

Yeah but the ACE is out of DC, and I tried it anyway, and... don't bother. It's no where near any ACE I've had in quality.

Thats unfortunate to hear. I picked up ace, broccoli and green city yesterday. Plan on making an atrocity of myself during the football games.

I only realized buying it because of the pink can topper. It's not BAD, it's just very meh for the price and compared to what I know ACE should be.

Is this just a new shipment? I bought four-packs of Green City and Perpetually Green a couple of days before Christmas and the store, Cranbury Buyrite, had about a half a pallet's worth of OH cases.

I’ve always been interested in trying green city. I’m not sure what the local place is charging but maybe I’ll give it a try if it’s still there later this week.

Green city is usually good. Closer to a VT IPA in that it isn't a melon bomb or pineapple juice. Plus it's 7 percent which for me makes a difference if I drink more than one.

I've gotten a couple of the OH deliveries and six packs, and Green City is one of, if not the best one I've gotten. It's a little brighter and more citrusy than most other IPAs of similar percentage.

Kind of why I wanted to try it, I've read on here the same thing so thanks for the feedback. Less juice and more traditional seems to be what I assumed and you guys confirmed, based on how I'm interpreting what you wrote. If I grab some I'll share my thoughts. Thanks guys.

Not sure if this matters or not but it was on hunterdons site for this week so it made its way around. The canals down the street from me in marlton has it as well according to Untappd.
