New Pilsner Urquell "Anthem" video

Edit: Now I get it, never mind, I'm dumb.

 

Besides not being refrigerated, I've been noticing more and more how old most of the Pilsner Urquell (cans and bottles) has been in many of the liquor stores near me. Lots of it with "Best before" dates of June and July - so close to 8-9 months old (MillerCoors' imported PU's BB date is based on a nine month shelf life in the US - too long for a pilsner).

Well, seems like they've solved the problem of picky beer buyers like me avoiding the old stuff.

Remember, both 12 and 6 packs are now sealed shut, so it's impossible to simply pull out a bottle to check the rear label date. The tray of the 2 X 12's was also undated, despite a white rectangle meant for the date. Not sure about the cases of the sixpacks.

Rear bottle label of the above pack turned out to be "Best before DEC1313".

Well said dude, and it's well worth reminding myself of that every now and then.

 

I wish we could find this stuff fresh more often on this side of the pond!

OK, my apologies to MillerCoors (but not the packaging crew in Pilzn - or the many retailers and distributors who are not refrigerating the "Express Shipped Cold" Pilsner Urquell).

Looks like the shipment above was just a manufacturing error - date code from a current 4-pack in the case of PU cans just purchased:
