Hell ya! I'm gonna buy a tiger so I can ride it into the brewery just like He-Man.

lol techincally this is the only animal exception:

The exclusion regarding live animals does not apply to edible fish, crustacea, shellfish or fish in aquariums.

Really, as has been mentioned half a dozen times already, it boils down to the owner/parents (of the four- and two- legged varieties). The frustration I've seen is when someone brings their dog into a brewery and then exhibits the same behavior as someone who doesn't. I don't mind a dog sniffing / licking me if its standing by her person two feet away from me (because, hey, I can always move one more foot away and be out of range, if I want), and I respect the person all the more for keeping their dog close by and actually being aware that they still have a dog. If the same dog licks me because it's on an eight+ foot leash, well, that's a huge put-off (or if their people treat the brewery as a doggy day-care while they enjoy a pint). I don't bring my dog to breweries simply because I want to relax and enjoy my beer without the responsibility of watching out for my dog. For those who do bring their dogs AND exhibit responsibility for them, I have zero issues (sounds like most dog owners in this thread are probably that way). Same goes for responsible tiger riders...

As this news is spreading and I'm seeing more commentary about it, it only reinforces how happy this makes me. Dog people are freaking nuts. The overly dramatic reactions are ridiculous, "what am I going to do if I can't bring Fido to the brewery ohnoes!". Well I'll tell you what you're going to do, you're going to enjoy your beer exactly the same as you would have otherwise, and then you'll go home and pet your dog later.

There's a pretty funny sign in Equinox about this. Not positive on the wording but it says something to the effect of due to the health code you can't bring your dog but your pet lobster is welcome. Good stuff.

I'm not a millennial though. I do have 2 small boys and they are awesome-but too rowdy to bring to a brewery.

It's a health issue because dogs shed, and you don't want dog hairs getting into your brewing process. I was at someone's house who has a cat, I got cat hair in my beer. Nasty.

    This.

I have 0 problem with dogs in breweries, but the subsequent meltdown by some and those people rationalizing that dogs have just as much of a right as tiny humans to be in a brewery is comical to me.

I'm not taking a position on the issue, but I will say I saw a small dog shit on the floor at Jagged Mountain a few years ago, and one that peed on my friend's purse and leg at Renegade a year before that. Both inside, neither dog was then made to leave the brewery. So there's that.

At this point opinions don't really matter as this is reality.

To combine people's brewery hates, I saw a large dog scare the bejesus out of a wandering toddler inside at Renegade, barking and growling in his face.

Aren't companion dogs (or whatever they're called, maybe "service dogs") exempt?

If so, is it ultimately any harder to get certification of your dog as a companion dog (or whatever it's called) than it was to get a medical MJ card, back before recreational?

If so, isn't there a pretty easy solution for people who REALLY need their dog to be with them at the pub or brewery?

All I know is if they don't allow dogs at the breweries anymore, who is going to drive me home?!

Anyone can buy those little "service animal" vests for an animal. Not even just for dogs either...
