A Perfect Pint recently posted this on their facebook page. I personally am not a fan of it, but maybe it will grow on me.

They are also releasing a new beer: Meridian Session Ale. It's part of the new Union Series, the first beer featuring the redesigned bottles and packaging.

Looks cool. Simple, clean and nostalgic looking. I like it better than the current one.

Great design, I really like it...It's really simple.

But, what about the new beer?! Meridian Session Ale, a beer in the new limited release Union Series released April 15, will be the first beer to feature the redesigned bottle and packaging. The Union Series will focus on new raw materials and ingredients appearing on the brewing scene. Availability of these ingredients will dictate the schedule of each new Union Series beer. Additional information on Meridian Session Ale will be released late-March.

Just saw that on the website.

We may see that logo in giant form if 'Summit Field' takes hold in lowertown

Is the whole label undergoing a redesign or just the logo?

Not sure I'm liking the new logo, but its cool that they got the naming rights to the Town Ball Tavern instead of a BMC brand.

I think this is awesome. As a homebrewer there seems to be 12 new hops, malt or yeast every year...and I don't often pull the trigger on things I don't know about. Good for Summit to take it a bit head on.

i like the logo, but it's going to always bother me how off-centered the SUMMIT is.

    Hey everyone, Chip from Summit.

The Union Series will be a new limited release series that includes beers brewed with up-and-coming ingredients to the beer scene. (More on Meridian's unique ingredients to follow.) As such, it release schedule will be varied. It is not replacing Unchained, it is a new series all of it's own. Unchained 12: 100% Organic Ale is set for release in mid-March, Meridian in mid-April.

Check out this blog post and feel to reach out to me/us with any questions.

I'll be shooting some video with head brewer Damian McConn as he brews Meridian Session Ale. Look for that at our YouTube page, FB, Twitter, etc.

@seefeldt - all packaging, bottle labels, merch, etc will have a rebranded look. It's pretty sharp, I can tell you that. But will take into 2014 to get completely in place.

    Cheers, everyone.

To me that just looks like the old logo dumbed down.... I would have stuck with the original, it was a classic.

Doesn't the "Brewing Co." on the logo give you a small hint as to what it is?

Since you asked, while it's obvious to us and most anyone familiar with the old Summit label, I know plenty of people who couldn't even name 3 ingredients in beer (and yet still think well of some of them).

Anyway, my point is just that I don't like the look of those spikes. Won't affect my Summit consumption in the slightest though.

I hear you. I guess I just like the simplicity of the overall design. Like you said, either way its not going to effect how much of their product I drink. For the layman beer drinker, I can't say, but I would guess Summit has probably done some sort of research on the topic.

The logo looks more retro. I didn't care for it at first but it is the oldest brewery in the twin cities so it fits.

Apparently, Summit is possibly changing the labels for Saga too, as this new label was approved. I get they need to get the new Summit logo on their bottles, but the redesign of the Saga graphic is just....not.....good. :(
