Did they change the IBUsive recipe? I recall the first batch (or two) being a mosaic driven IPA, similar to Alchemy Hour/Chillwave. I was lucky enough to be at the brewpub when they tapped the first batch, and the bartender mentioned the (then rather new) mosaic hop. The most recent taplist states "Simcoe, Citra, Columbus & Chinook Hops". Is it the same brew?

 

Haven't had any of the others but it is phenomenal. Huge cinnamon in the smell and the taste is a great balance between the heat (at least for me) and cinnamon. The beer is great. Please give it a shot if you haven't had it. I'm thinking before too long Jackie O's stuff will be harder to come by. Beer this good doesn't stay a secret for too long.

I am curious about this as well. I bought a growler and shared it with some friends this weekend. Still a great beer. Just wondering about this.

 

My pages have been reloading a lot and acting weird. I think my router might have had too much to drink also.

Anywho, anybody know if Hopstalker going to be out in September?

 

Seems to be a common theme. Hopefully stores just over ordered. I like the stuff and Warlock alot.

 

Im surprised the Rum barrel pumking has hung around though.Im guessing maybe because it was fairly pricy.

 

I talked with the brewer at Willoughby yesterday. Told him I still have some batch 1 Nut Smasher and he said the peanut butter fades and its pretty much all chocolate now. Just a heads up if you are holding on to it. I didn't realize the peanut butter faded.

Did they recommend how quickly you should drink them? I have 4 from the June release and want to make sure they don't go to waste

 

Went to Wolf's Ridge for the first time yesterday for a wedding pregame. Holy cow, I've been living in this city with this gem just existing and hadn't visited yet?

They are doing some great stuff there. Clear Sky Daybreak (cream ale with coffee and vanilla) blew me and my group away.

 

So I figured I'd give my 2 cents on 4Beans.. I thought it was okay, nothing special, but nothing horrible.. Middle of the road I guess..

 

Still need to make it out there as I have also heard a lot of good things. Had some of their stuff at last year's Ohio Craft Brew Festival at North Market and was far from impressed. Always room for improvement with young breweries, though.

A little off subject but worth mentioning, Land-Grant has (or had when I was last there and still has according to website) a beer called Creamsikolsch that is worth getting over there to try. It'll blow you away... a kolsch with orange and vanilla. Doesn't sound all that impressive, but definitely the best beer I've had in recent memory. Well balanced and perfect for crushing on a warm day. They really nailed it on that one. Only setback, no growler fills

 

Big fan of that Clear Sky Daybreak. Pies & Pints tapped it today, according to Twitter. But I'm not sure which location that account is posting for.

Anyone a member of Urban Artifact's Explorer Club? If so, how do the releases work? Worthwhile?

 

He didn't say. All he said was the peanut butter is gone from batch 1 and its mostly chocolate now. And he really likes it.

 

I'm a member. There haven't been any releases yet so I don't really know if it's gonna prove to be worthwhile or not.
