    Dad update number two:

    Loved Oro Negro.
Thought IBUsive was better than SOS and on par with Julius.

Very true. He has no idea what these beers are so he's not influenced at all. I'd love to do a blind taste test on some Tree House regulars. Give them Julius, Green, Haze, and IBUsive. Tell em that it's a new experimental brew from TH. They'd probably lose their shit over it.

Sorry if I'm late to the party, but Maine Beer Company coming to Ohio in mid fall is very exciting news! Limited bottles, no word on kegs. All this coming via twitter (@queencitydrinks).

Such good news. Will definitely be grabbing Another One any time I see. Had my first a couple weeks ago and it was a phenomenal IPA. Looking forward to trying Lunch too.

Wow, I haven't heard this yet. Very exciting news! I have a good friend who works for MBC as an assistant brewer and he sent me a bottle of Dinner that was 5 days old. Delicious stuff!

I was actually at MBC last week when traveling for business and was told mid-October for when we can start seeing their beers. No word on which ones, bottles vs. kegs, etc. Very exciting though!

I'm not all that jazzed by MBC, but I will buy the odd draft beer if we see kegs.

Shocker....but what if they did a collab with Fat Head though?

You can bust my balls about Fat Head's if you wish, but they do far superior hoppy beer than MBC. Those bottles will be dust collectors.

I love Fat Head's as much as the next guy, but MBC has a deeper distributed hoppy beer portfolio than FH. Maybe not draft, but bottles for sure. FH has 1 world class year round bottle.

Well, it's a good thing I have regular access to both FH's locations and I prefer draft over bottles every time.

So while the bottled distro might make a difference outside of NE Ohio, I still contend MBC bottles will sit on shelves in Cleveland. Besides, Fat Head's is only one example of hoppy beer I will buy before anything from MBC.

I'm happy we will have another option in town, don't get me wrong, but it isn't earth shattering news.

But it is new to Ohio which is the point of this thread.

I mean this in the nicest way possible but you always come off as Eeyore when anything outside of NE Ohio is mentioned. By now we all get it you have traded a lot (so have a lot of us), you have tried a lot of beers (so have a lot of us) you love fat head (so do a lot of us) and etc.

MBC does some great stuff that a lot of people like. I think it is a great add to Ohio distro and perfectly relevant to the "new to ohio thread".

    Cheers!

Pro tip: I am an Eeyore

Anybody that knows me for real knows I am critical of Ohio brewers, too; even Fat Head's. As much as my cheerleading for Fat Head's may annoy you, take comfort that the blind zealotry of certain breweries annoys me even more.

I think you know Pete R, and he is even a bigger proponent of Fat Head's than I am.

Also, don't feel the need to try to be nice; I'm a big boy and can take a little criticism. The Lord know I dish it out a lot

I do know Pete quite well and I believe it was because of you that I got to try IBUsive (far and away my favorite FH beer) for that I thank you. I do not mind at all the cheefleading for any brewery...The hating act is a little "tired" IMO. I guess there are pessimists and optimists though. No palate is certainly the same and more options from quality brewers being introduced to our state of distribution is not a bad thing and is certainly on topic here right?

I'm not always pessimistic, really, I just like to express my opinion. If said opinion happens to be negative, so be it... I have never been shy. I will admit to being a little overly critical at times, but that is directly related to the aforementioned blind zealotry that is so pervasive here.

But, yes, a new beer coming to town is on topic, as are any opinions of that beer.

Also, you will never see me being butthurt if somebody doesn't like Fat Head's. I may make a jest or something, but different strokes and all that
