I had JuJu at the Great Northern location on Wednesday and I felt it wasn't as "juicy" as the official release was early this year in taste or aroma. I remember smelling that beer the moment they put it on front of me the aroma was so pungent, not this time. Is it just me? Still very good, but after my one glass I moved on to some of the other options I have not had (The dopplebock and vanilla chocolate porter). Speaking of, the porter tasted great but was so heavily carb'd... Was almost like porter-pop.

I had the opposite experience and think this batch is way better. Just sent out a growler to a JuJu junkie and he said it's the best he has ever had, and he may have had as much of Juju as I have(he's in New Mexico).

i thought the last one in July was kinda boozier than I prefer.

Good to know! My sinuses have been wonky lately so that is likely the reason.

Make sure you close your eyes to maintain the integrity of a blind taste test. Cheers.

Ahhh, I'm gonna have to target this one now. Thanks for the info! We actually visited the Blue Mountains when we were in Jamaica a few years ago which included a tour of the plantations. They had fresh BM coffee at a lot of restaurants in the area as well, fell in love with it immediately so this sounds delicious and would be a real treat to try for me personally.

Had trailhead tonight for the first time, tastes like every other breweries pale ale. Creeper from weilands taste like the best shit I've had in a while. Haven't busted into the musk yet but it should be better than trailhead. Not exactly new to Ohio but these releases seem to differ time to time.

Passing thru Columbus in the afternoon on Sunday. Wondered if anyone could recommend a stop or 2 to pick up some hoof hearted beers? Really want to try whatever's fresh.

Weiland's had at least 6 cases of Musk left yesterday afternoon plus they might still have Creeper on tap

If you think trailhead tastes like every other pale ale out there you most only drink the best of the best. I can Think of only a handful that I like better maybe less.

This doesn't sound like the Blabe I had when I tried it. It was a little hazy, but not murky, and it was definitely finished. I'm going to take a guess that it might have just been a bad can.

Totally agreed. Just drank a Blabe with a fresh can of Julius, and I was more impressed with the Blabe.

Went to Bottlehouse today and was really impressed. Great people, awesome atmosphere and music and a few of their beers were really good. Their Coffee Stout was great and they had a Belgian DIPA that was pretty tasty. A lot of the other stuff was ok, but cool place in general. They are gonna be canning their IPA and selling it in 4-packs soon!

Maybe I got the dregs of the batch, LOL... it did look straight up like some fresh unfiltered pineapple juice. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely re-visit if/when I have the chance. FWIW, my brother (also an avid craft beer drinker) tried mine and agreed that something had to be off considering all the praise the beer garners. Trust me, I wanted to be blown away, but it didn't happen. OTOH, the South of Eleven draft was spectacular.

Yep, you didn't get dregs - look at pics on other social outlets, the beer looks like absolute cloudy shit but it drank pretty good.

New to Ohio('s border): SS Kentucky

It’s here! The latest Quaff Bros. collaboration has arrived and will go on sale next Monday, August 31st at 5pm. What is it? We are happy to announce the arrival of SS Kentucky, a Stout brewed with cocoa nibs and chili peppers, aged in bourbon barrels and produced for us by our good friends at West Sixth. At 9% ABV, this cork and caged 750ml fires on all cylinders with dark chocolate and coffee flavors, subtle vanilla undertones with a touch of smoke, and a kiss of heat on the finale. The name SS Kentucky has some great meaning behind it too. This Quaff Bros. Stout was aged in a very specific Jefferson’s Reserve Ocean barrel. This is a project that features a bourbon aged 6-7 years that is then loaded onto ships, which sail around the world for six months, a process that ages the bourbon more quickly through the motion of the waves.

WHAT: QUAFF BROS. SS Kentucky Bottle Release
WHERE: Danny’s Desk (in front of Ei8ht Ball Tap Room)
WHEN: Monday, August 31st at 5pm EST
    COST: $14.99 (750ml) Limit Two

Not sure if it's been around for a while but I just noticed NYFR 10% is around a bunch of places for bottles and growler fills. Not everyone's cup of tea but I'll grab at sixer or two.

I do not believe that is the 10% version. That is Chicago-only and is in bombers.
