Everything I have had from Rhinegeist so far has been good, although not particularly exceptional in Ohio's current hoppy beer climate. Mosaic pale ale is my favorite as of now.

Drinking one now and really digging it. The citra really shines imo. Add it to the list of great Ohio IPAs and get it before it's gone forever.

Drinking this now, pretty good. Only other rice IPA i've had is DRIPA from Kuhnhenn which is a better beer imo.

I brought a bottle of BB Woodburner to Kahn's for Black Friday the year before last. You didn't get any?!

I agree. Mosaic is my favorite from them. Pure fury is delicious too. Their barrel aging program is off to a great start.

Drinking my thirsty dog maple now. Really good beer but I agree with the others. Imo just needs to be toned down just a notch or two on the maple. Besides that' it's super good

Truth is the only thing I've really cared for by Rhinegeist as well. I would be more excited to see Mad Tree up there instead of them.

^ Truth is a solid IPA. And I was pretty excited when Rhinegeist/MadTree started distribution to Columbus, but after a few months they became regular shelf turds here. Good beer, just not a game-changer. Same can now be said about Shorts. Crazy how much more I appreciated all 3 of those breweries when they were exclusive to Cincinnati and Michigan.

Yea, Shorts coming here(much like Maine and Alpine) does zero for me.

When a brewery/distributor rolls out their product into a new market, particularly an established one, you'd think great time and effort would be undertaken to build the brand, penetrate and create customers. I like Short's weird beer for the most part. They just haven't done a good job getting fresh beer and their story out to customers IMO. Not writing them off by any means, but they are fighting an up hill battle from here on out it seems. Anything that's new will sell once, but it's the repeat business I see being a struggle for now. My 2 cents.

New Lizardville on Polaris opened today. Drove by this afternoon and saw the sign that they were opening today at 4pm. Bottle shop had quite a bit of Zombie Dust and some Prairie Apple Brandy Noir, Pirate Noir, and Okie on a shelf when you walked in among the usual good bottle selection.

I didn't have a lot of time so I grabbed a few things and went on my way, but the Lizardville side has the usual whiskey bar with about 8 drafts. Winking Lizard side had a pretty standard tap list for them. They had the Maple Porter from Thirsty Dog in bottles that I would have loved to try had I had more time. Nice patio out front perfect for a day like today.

Good to see something decent in terms of beer up that way, outside of Aficionado's.

Last year the Andersons in maumee had a good beer tasting, Fou, 3F Frambois, and a cantillion kreik.

I think I'm going to the toledo spirt event and doc Watson for kbs.
