New to Ohio (2017)

For those of you that enjoyed the results of 200, this one's for public release next weekend:

 

I don't care what Fred thinks, if there's "butter" as a descriptor, my first thought is diacetyl, and my second thought is bleck.

 

BTW, Figleaf is freaking killing everything they make since they opened. Had their Exculpatory IPA tonight. Delicious West Coast. Nice resinous, piney hop with a little fruit and a nice dry bitter finish.

 

But it's been aged in barrels for (insert arbitrary number here) months!

 

Looks like Royal Docks and Odd Sides coming to cleveland in the next few weeks.

 

Sure hope it's this weekend and not next weekend like I assumed it would be.

For what it's worth, I enjoyed both sides of the hoppin frog discussion, not sure why it was removed.

Loose Rail Brewing will open their taproom in Canal Winchester on 5/5.

Kind of interested in this one--they have some ambitious beers on a first run, including an 8.5% Amber and a 10% stout. Not too familiar with any of the names besides the Doerflers who own Harvest Mooon

 

My favorite part is how my comment that said "this is a place we can provide our feedback, positive or negative, about a brewery." I stand corrected! My posts didn't even say anything negative about another member, which many do on a daily basis that aren't removed. Oh well.

Does anyone know when Hop Marauder is getting bottled? I see both Fat Heads locations have it on tap and a couple months ago they said bottles would be this spring.

 

I would't hold your breath on the HM bottles. It may happen, but what I have heard is not especially encouraging.

Anyone else enjoy the HH/AtG collab Everyone Clearly Wants Some? Had one as a shower beer last night. Pretty damned tasty.

 

I was looking forward to HM bottles too, but I would be very surprised if it happens. I haven't heard anything since the initial rumor and their release calendar doesn't have any mention.
I love Fat Heads, but I am disappointed that they make so many great beers (many fairly frequently) that never get distributed. Hopefully when they move to a new production facility we will see some Hop Marauder, Battle Axe, IBUsive, Oktoberfest, Black Knight, Kohlminator, etc. At least get that Canton location up and running to save me 45 minutes each way!

 

Damn. I was looking forward to something new from them and I was just at NO on Saturday. That chocolate nibula is pretty tasty.

 

I always feel the same, especially when they have a bottle release announcement for jack straw? It's fine, I have some in my fridge, but a lot of other beers I'd like to see. Felt the same a little with head trip. Just wonder how they picked that beer to get bottled over others.

 

I actually really liked Head Trip, but beers like that and Pimp My Sleigh, for example, seem to have such a small amount bottled that it's gone in a couple weeks.
