I'm sure this will be great. Looking Glass (Double Trouble aged in brandy barrels) was fantastic when I had it at the taproom.

Does anyone know if the volume is any higher than last year? MA got half cases of backstage and only one to two cases of KBS

Am I the only one that thinks that this is a waste of some good IPA and some good Bourbon Barrels?

Im thinking along the same lines. Especially if it's a really limited distro. Ill just buy Double Trouble and add some Booker's instead of taking a day off work to find my one bottle limit

Don't think you're getting off that easy, BCBW is out in April as well. Someone should release another all-time great beer and just call it "Fuck Yo Wallet!"

I believe Szrp was aged in the maple bourbon barrels.

I'm generally not for aging an IPA in Bourbon barrels. I tried that style from a local brewery around here and it just meh.

Am I the only one that is relieved this is an IPA and don't need to chase it? They hit their first several Backstage Series beer out of the ballpark, but have been slipping a bit lately.

I'm looking very forward to this. Flat 12 barrel aged a couple of their IPAs and they were awesome.

I personally don't think bourbon-barrel aging does anything for hoppy beers. Since I doubt I would find this beer tasty, I will be leaving it to the rest of you to enjoy. Happy hunting!

No, I have not tried yet as my time machine is currently being worked on my oompa lumpas. I am just not a big fan of barrel aged IPA's.

Will be interesting to see. $12.99 is coming in at a pretty cheap price point for 750ml let alone something that's from Founders and something aged in Bourbon Barrels. Also, doesn't a 4-month aging process seem kind of short? Not sure with IPA's as you have to make sure the hop character doesn't fade too much.

2.both shit. And both with good base beers.

Why is everything put in a barrel?

It might be great, but I won't shell out 12.99 to find out.

Yes, it's mentioned in the PR. Also, why change the name? Slightly different recipe maybe?

Could it be for accounting purposes? Throwing it on draft and then bottle releasing present different costs and maybe they are trying to keep the two separate? That's my only guess

How many bottled barrel aged vomits have you had? Just because you haven't had it before doesn't mean it's automatically good or that you have to clamor for it. Personally, I echo what someone else said -- what a waste of an IPA and what a waste of bourbon barrels.

Sounds interesting. I don't know how Barrel-Aged Double Trouble would turn out, but I'm curious. I've never really had the desire to have a BA DIPA, but if anyone can make it tasty, why not Founders..
