Last year, same batch size, lasted 3 weekends, I believe, so you should be fine.

Does the line usually start forming well before 4pm on Friday for these types of releases?

There seems to be plenty of this, so hopefully not, but in the past, with the really limited stuff, some folks get there around 3:45

Usually I go Friday nights around 9, and there is at most 5 people in line (even for limited releases)

...I mean, they're all limited. 3 per is awesome!

Why would anyone wait in line for this? It is pointless. Show up an hour later (or hell, at opening) and get some beer on tap. Then get your bottles an hour later when there is no line.

    Some people make no sense.

I'm not well versed enough to know what is "limited" but 6000 bottles seems like a good number for JK release. Considering they're letting people buy 3 each, I don't think JK thinks it's THAT in demand. There have been several over the last few months with lower limits.

For about 80% of the release in the last 6 months, I've been there sometime between 4 and 6 on Friday (I work relatively close, but live relatively far), and I've never had problems.

I have seen lines, and I won't stand in two lines, so I'll generally just get my bottle allotment if there is a "tap room line."

The process and ingredients are the same as blend 2. Expect some variation based on the particular blend, the age of the beer, and how we go about fermentation.

Exactly how I feel. I am definitely going on Saturday or Sunday to get my limit. Definitely try to get at least a pour from the taproom, but likely won't be hanging around if there are long lines for the taproom.

I will let all the Houston people wait in line.

OK, I get it. I know bottles aren't going to run out and that wasn't my concern. I know JK is a nice place to relax and drink a beer also. I only asked about the line forming because unfortunately I have to leave JK by 4:15pm to pick someone up and probably won't have a chance to get back to JK after that. I could conceivable get there early if I thought there would be a line, but I can't show up and 4:00pm and still have time to wait in a line. That is all.

If you have to leave there that early you should be at JK by 3:45 at least. There is a line that forms right before they open, sometimes it can be a long line, then usually after that initial wave goes down you can walk right up and buy bottles until the evening wave comes in.

Will it last 3 weekends this time? My gut tells me that it sells out at some point before the close of the 2nd weekend.

Usually our Friday afternoon lines for bottle releases aren't too long, or at least move pretty fast. I suspect there will be little to no line today at our bottles to go tent by 6pm or 7pm. - Jeff

Although I don't think that is the case this time, people said the same thing about other releases & got burned trying to do that (blanc, fen, etc). Can't always count on the late night roll up.

  32. aschwab

All of those lasted throughout the weekend (or at least to Sunday). The only day there was a rush to get in line was the day it sold out. If you showed up on Friday at 6 PM, there would not have been a line.

I go all three days for genies & select 750s, arriving within 1-2 hrs of open & my experience has been vastly different. Especially on the NU/WWT, Blanc & Fen days the lines were solid the entire time. We'll have to agree to disagree. Again I don't expect that today.

I am guessing a lot of that had to do with how far in advacne they announced those.

I believe Fen Tao is the only time I have ever waited in a line and that was just bad timing on my part.

I guess you missed the part earlier when I said "The only day there was a rush to get in line was the day it sold out.".....which is the only time I have waited in line.

No point in waiting in a line on any day that it is not close to selling out.

Agree about the advance notice, good call. That's likely one of the largest factors. Were most of those like announcements two weeks out? Can we petition for "day of" announcements on periscope or some type of obscure social media with unlimited bottles to those who show?
