@ONovoMexicano @gyoungit road trip?
DFW and Houston people are bad enough. Now we have New Mexico folk?
Come on now, Us New Mexico folk are decent people haha. I hate to be grouped into a category of people assimilated with DFW
I think I like you already.
I'll like them more if they bring some elevated with them
Don't worry about the flak. As a recent transplant to Austin, I've heard too many times, "Welcome to Austin, please don't stay." I think Austin should be more selective on that account. Welcome to Austin, please don't stay if you're a bunghole.
That's my vote at least. Again, as a recent transplant, I welcome the visitors and immigrants (but not from DFW or Houston).
I think he knew I was joking on my comment.
@aaronyoung01 @gyoungit Yes, I'm down.
It's well understood that the Southwest forums are much like the Southwest in real life: Texans will overrun the rest of it and treat it like their personal playground and they're not very good at sharing.
lol, hahaha. Someone gets it.
Looks like the limit was dropped down to 2pp. I'm also a little bummed there's no Foudre left in bottles.
Preferably, the next time someone is bored at Jester King, they stick with pictures of fruit fermenting or pictures of their beautiful brewery and not teasing upcoming releases. I like being surprised by the release. It's like receiving a present you weren't expecting.
Yep. N. Mexico, Arizona, should be part of the Mountain forum.
We can handle Oklahoma.
Colorado should just be their own forum... call it Fucking Stoned Colorado.
Nah, New Mexico should just be part of both forums.
That makes two of us and I live in DFW.
Austin used to be better before the neck beard hipster .com losers ruined it
Just wanted to follow up on my trip out to JK this past Saturday. Took a friend of mine who hadn't yet been to JK. We arrived about 11:50am. There was absolutely no line. We got our bottles around 12:01pm and then enjoyed the rest of a great afternoon at JK.
There was never a line at the bottles to go tent and only a short line outside to get a pour. I like the fact JK is now offering bottles for consumption onsite (with no wait to purchase). The 1:00PM brewery tour was really well done (as always). I miss the JK stems but I don't mind the new glassware. Although I really liked Nocturn, Foudre stole the show. Easily a top-3 beer I've had from JK, including their fruited sours.
I suspect there will be more Nocturn left for next weekend.
Sweet, if there is some left next week I'll definitely be there. Pending Houston doesn't get destroyed by this Hurricane.
There is a hurricane headed to h town?
Hurricane? More a not so strong tropical depression. But, it will cause just rain and flooding.
Sounds like a perfect time for JK to release another fruited sour.
I went on Friday and there was no line.
As for the storm, all the sheetrock is ripped out, but I sure hope my house doesn't flood again.
Any word on how many bottles are left for this weekend? @jesterkingbeer
No inside info but I am going to throw out 1k left.
You're pretty good at this.
My guess is that its between 1250-1500, closer to the high end.
shocked it didn't run out this past weekend, slump in attendance?
I moved back to Austin this past weekend. I drove into town Sunday afternoon and stopped at JK first since I was coming in on 290. It was about 4PM and not much people there at all.
2 bottle limits last week.
Continuous releases for the past month+
Not a release weekend (a lot of people who wanted it already got it)
All factored in. If it is a 1 bottle limit this weekend, I would not be surprised if it lasts all weekend as well.
What do you think the chances are it lasting till next Friday?
It will probably last. I've been there the last 2 days and it never got that busy.
would really love to try this beer but wont get to austin til september. i live next to the bruery and have lots of good stuff if someone near jester king wants to grab a few of these for me!!
I might be able to grab you a couple.
cool, thank you! ill message you!
Anyone out @jesterkingbeer? Curious on status of Nocturn bottles & lines. Got a small window to make a run there and back from downtown ATX.
To answer my own question: yes, Nocturn is still available, still 2-bottle limit. Virtually no line for to-go bottles.
There's absolutely no way these are there tomorrow is there?
possibly. someone posted yesterday in a facebook group they still had some.
Available tomorrow guaranteed...no line when I picked up mine.
Did they last through the weekend? Hoping there'll still be some when I'm in Austin this weekend.
I saw 1 person with 1 bottle on sunday. I was there 2:30-4:30 and I never saw any lines for anything outside. You might just have to wait until they publish this weekend's menu, but I'm guessing they probably have some left.
Am I reading the menu correctly?
There is still Nocturn available? 2/pp?
