Asheville - wicked weed, burial, green man, maybe Asheville pizza if you want pizza too.

 

If you want to catch Burial, you need to hit it on Sat as they are only open on Thur. Fri. and Sat. They just don't make enough brew at this point to be open any more often. Catch Appalachian Vitners for a bottle shop in Asheville, pretty easy to find. Wedge is an interesting place to visit as well, but Wicked Weed (hit downstairs, far left wall when you walk in) is a must, Burial I love, Green Man is located like 100' from the entrance to Burial and Hi Wire is in that area as well. If you like a certain beer style, I mean REALLY like a certain beer style you might want to hit Twin Leaf as well. All within walking distance of each other except Wedge and Appalachian Vitners. If your into driving Highland Brewing is always a great stop. As well as Pisgah Brewing out in Black Mountain (25 min drive).

 

Hit up Olde Mecklenburg in Charlotte too. They dont catch a ton of attention because they only make tru to style German beers, but what they make is fantastic.

 

In Charlotte, Salud Bottle Shop (just down the street from Noda).

Hit Brawley's and make him sign a bottle of Old Hickory Daniel Boone with his picture on the front.

 

Charlotte: Hit NoDa and Birdsong. They are right beside each other.
Head up the street into downtown NoDa and have some cask beer at Growlers(usually 2 to pick from)
Maybe eat at Cabo Fish Taco across the street from Growlers. It's real good.

Surely you realize there are lots and lots of posts dealing with these two regions, and your OP is rather vague. There are many....many....'bottle shops, beer bars, food and breweries' in the area.
