This is a nice show of support and though it sounds like your wife wouldn't mind if you continued drinking, I'd wager that she's also quite pleased that you're willing to do this.

We have 3 kids and my answer is, never even crossed my mind. Her hormones were all over the place like most women and beer definitely helps tolerate the crazy mood swings. Always better to not argue with a pregnant lady. Enjoy how relaxing only one child is. It gets harder with two for sure. Congratulations and start figuring out your celabatory beer. Also don't be that guy that sleeps every night up at the hospital, it is a huge change for the first child, you should be home with him or her at night if possible so that the first doesn't get jealous and confused.

I'm sure your wife appreciates the sympathy sentiment. I can see not making my wife DD me around for 9 months, but I cannot see giving up my hobby (and I know she wouldn't ask that of me).

For both of my kids, I quit drinking on the weekdays while my wife was pregnant. But come Friday & Saturday, it was time to throw down. She appreciated the gesture, and I lost weight in the process.

After every pre-natal (am I using this term correct?) visit that offered good news on healthy mom and child with no change in due date, I'd continue to drink. I would however stop (two kids) about a month before due date in case we needed to suddenly rush to delivery via my driving.

Had an ex-girlfriend or fiancé or whatever that suggested that should she get pregnant, I WOULD have to abstain for the duration. Note the prefix "ex".

    Congrats and no.....

My wife was usually so tired she would go to sleep at 7. Perfect time to crack one open and watch a movie in peace. You never will again...........

No sir. Wife is 9 months pregnant now. I kept it rollin all the way through. As you mentioned - my wife DD'd for me too, although that ended at the end of her second trimester. Good on ya for it, but not for me........

Why am i reading this, you are asking a bunch of beer drinkers if you should stop drinking beer. Ask your wifes friends if you want to talk to people that agree with your silly idea.

She was pregnant last year, I think I drank more. She's not a drinker though.

The day my wife asks me to give up beer is the day I ask for a divorce.

Be there emotionally and give her all the support and love you can. But please don't let her pregnancy effect your love of beer.

During the first pregnancy, I quit drinking for about two weeks once we were getting close to the due date, but quickly resumed but at a much lower rate. Now that she's due with our second in about two months, I'm still going at my usual rate, but will cut back to one or maybe two when we're about a month out. Luckily she works at a hospital, so when the time comes, she'll already be there!!!

Dude, you're just nuts. Drink like you will never see another beer again!

Enjoy your in-house DD while it lasts.
