According to Small Town Brewery's Instagram, they are expanding to Florida!
The distributors have it. Just a matter of getting it in.
Which Distributor has them?
Ahhh yeah. Crack in a bottle
Just had one if you're a root beer fan it's pretty good
My question is… Why not just drink root beer? It tastes the EXACT same and you can get it at 7-11 for 1/10th of the price. You wanna get drunk, take shots of whatever.
Because then I'd have to join Shot Advocate.
I quit drinking coffee stouts and just started drinking 7-11 coffee too! Man what a decrease in my monthly beverage bill and liquid calorie consumption. You're really onto something here!
The broudy's by my house has Mission Hard Root Beer, which I heard is awesome, is this better?
I've never tried Mission's. It's definitely better than Sprechers.
JJTaylor and Gold Coast in Florida!
haha, my sentiments exactly. is it delicious? yes! does it taste just like root beer? yes! is it a brewing marvel? yes! but it's also a novelty
I LOVE IT!
Steve, BM me your addy, I've got a sixer for ya
NYFRB tastes better and has alcohol! So what about PB&J, Maple Bacon, Last Snow, Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, etc beers? You feel the same way about them as well?
I don't think those are quite the same thing amigo
I was fortunate enough to score a bottle of 3 Sons Irish Winter last fall. Awesome beer.... tastes just like a great irish coffee (sub in awesome coffee stout for regular coffee). As I was drinking it I thought, man why don't I just stop at any bar and get a fucking irish coffee - gimmicky and novelty to the max. Think of it's trade value (cost) compared to the cost of an actual fucking irish coffee
Go Go Gadget REACH!
Agreed. Those beers are awesome (No Crusts, Last Snow, etc). Not that NYFRB wasn't tasty when I got one in a trade, but I couldn't tell the difference between it and an IBC root beer. Didn't taste the alcohol and it didn't taste anything like a beer. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. To me it's just a novelty "beer" as well.
You need to go to Chicago and try the 11 and 20 percent NYFRB. Now THATS worth it!
Total wine Sarasota had it on Friday!
And there it is, folks. If I'm going to drink some extremely sugary root beer, at least give it some kick.
I like the novelty of it and I'm glad I got the chance to try it, but I probably wouldn't buy a 6-pack, little too sweet for me
I have to agree, and I still have 8 left in the fridge, after the first couple the novelty wore off. Don't get me wrong I think its awesome.
Any sightings in south florida yet folks?
+1, Orlando area specifically
But don't the shots make up for the other 9/10 of the price?
I agree it is a novelty beer and I'd prefer a Yoo Hoo over a Moo Hoo and Grapefruit Juice over GF Sculpin too for pure taste, but the latter makes my family and friends more bearable.
Anyone know if this has hit So FL yet? Will be down there and would love to pick some up.
Found at ABC Carrolwood Tampa today, several cases.
My reply was a bit unclear, I was asking if anyone had sighted it in Orlando yet. I whiffed on Sunday Morning Stout and I'm hoping to avoid the same on this.
NYFRB is in Orlando now. I know it's at Total Wine Millenia. Can't speak for any other place. Millenia got a decent sized shipment though. Cheers!
Total Wine in Pinecrest just got a bunch of it
Broudy's in St. Augustine just got a good bit
Just had this last night and now I am totally hooked. Really hope it hits NC soon
Is Total Wine treating it as a limited release (behind the counter)?
nope. my girlfriend went to get them and the distributer opened up a case for her. they weren't on shelves yet.
Down in Total Wine Kendall as of this morning for anyone interested.
Definitely not a "behind the counter" limited release and there seems to be a ton of it in So FL now. TW Lauderdale got 30 cases and so did TW Plantation. And those stating this tastes just like A & W RB are correct. pure soda taste. Would love to see the brewing process on this as there is no hop presence whatsoever.
It's hit NC!
