So I live in Missouri and one of my coworkers is driving to CO (Beaver Creek) on Friday to ski for a week and offered to get me some beer. What notable stuff is available on shelves in CO now? He said he was planning to stop at a place called Tipsy’s. Is that a good place or should I steer him elsewhere? He’s a newish beer geek but he’ll be with someone more experienced

    I’m interested in

    Funkwerks: Saison, White, Maori King
Oskar Blues: Ten FIDY, G’Knight, Deviant Dale’s, regular Dale’s

Any chance of finding anything from Russian River, Alesmith, or any other West Coast stuff not available in MO? Or are there any GI BCS (or variants) around

Forgive me, I’m not a trader so I don’t follow release schedules or availability of beers that aren’t distributed here.

Tipsy's is huge and will have a lot of variety. I don't remember the last time I was there but around town he shouldn't have a problem locating Alesmith, Oskar Blues, etc. I haven't seen any RR or BCBS out and about lately though.

I would suggest he stops at Beaver Liquors in Avon if he's going to Beaver Creek.

That site should help compare what's available here compared to there.

There's a fuck-load of Paradox out there. Also, there's some new Funkwerks out there, like the Oud Bruin.

This post makes me cringe. Tell him to put a blind fold on and grab randomly at the shelves.

Pretty much all the locals you list are on shelves. Ten fidy seems especially tasty this year. Maori king is actually now tropic king, I see it a lot still, but recomend deceit instead. Such a great beer. Alesmith is around and now we have jester king on the shelves as well. Really, you seem to have a grasp of what's around locally, go ape shit!

Sorry to piggy back on this thread but figured it was close enough along the lines of what I was looking for to not start another.

Flying into Denver tonight and will be around town tomorrow before heading to the mountains. Gonna stop by Crooked Stave so Ill be looking for whatever they have there but was curious what else I should be on the lookout for on shelves around town. Staying on Jason street just off 38th in Highlands Area (I think?). Limited car access so probably just be cabing it. Planned to stop by the Argonaut on East Colfax and Mr. B's on Market Street. Any other places I should stop by that would be better?

Mainly looking for stuff I cant get in Texas (or sells out instantly since the hype is ridiculous here in Houston). Really enjoy sours, IPA's, coffee and vanillla stouts and porters, barrel aged stuff, and beer so open to any suggestions I should look for.

Any rumors on a recent shipment of some RR stuff that I may be lucky enough to grab?

Maybe not "better" but closer would be Highlands Wine & Spirits at 38th and Wolf with a damn fine selection.
Also, RR may just be hitting this week so your timing might be perfect.

I'm pretty sure Pliny is already here, not sure about any other RR this delivery though. The only one that may hit is Consecration or *possibly Supplication.

Probably I should check map before spouting off, but I think Mondo Vino is pretty close to 38 th and Jason too.

Thanks guys. Probably make the rounds to all of those places time allowing. Any thoughts on what to look for on shelves?

Elevations most recent barrel aged IIPA, Fanboy, is quite good. I don't generally care for barrel aged pale ales and enjoyed this one.

Tried to play the "im from out of state never had Russian river, hold one for me bro" card. Didn't work. Hopefully some left when I get in tonight...

Argonaut always gets their Pliny on Friday, just FYI. Supplication will most likely last the weekend at most stores.
