Good afternoon all! I am interested in finding some commercial examples of nugget hops. I have had plenty of Nugget Nectar (living in upstate NY has a few advantages), but I am curious about other beers you all know of that utilize the nugget to it's fullest potential. Cheers, Phil
I don’t have any ‘other’ suggestions for you but I did want to make you aware that Nugget Nectar has a lot of other hops in it then just Nugget hops: Tröegs Nugget Nectar Alcohol by Volume: 7.5% Hop Bitterness (IBU's): 93ish Color (SRM): Straw/ Orange Availability: Seasonal Malts: Pilsner, Vienna, Munich Hops: Nugget, Warrior, Tomahawk, Simcoe, Palisade HopBack Hops: Whole leaf Nugget Dry Hops: Nugget, Warrior Yeast: Ale Cheers!
as JackHorzempra said, there are several hop varieties that make up Nugget Nectar. I'd try the Mikkeller Single Hop IPA (Nugget) http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/13307/49650 this beer, although overpriced, will give you a 1-on-1 experience with the Nugget hop.
Ah yes, I guess I should have mentioned that... Suggestions needn't be a beer that's totally nuggets. I did realize the Nectar was more than Nuggets, although I didn't realize there were Palisades. And the Mikkeller! I forgot about that beer. I think the Tap had that once...
