I know, I know - not the hottest beer nowadays, but I always look forward to its release every year. I think the NN quality was iffy when it transitioned to their new facility in Hershey, but the last few years I think it recaptured some of its former glory. Per their blog it was supposed to be released 1/13 in MA:

I called a few stores yesterday in the Merrimack Valley area & they had no idea when it would arrive. I imagine it will be everywhere eventually, but I'd like to get some freshies as early as possible. Great beer on draft too IMO.

I too am looking for it this week, especially because I think I missed out last year (or was late to the punch). My locals don't have it yet either.

Curious why this beer comes in both six packs of 12oz bottles AND 12oz cans, in addition to the 4 pack of 16oz cans... maybe they're testing formats to decide what to go with in the future?

I wonder what the price difference will be?

My local Total Wine's website shows the six pack of 12oz cans will be 11.99 while the bottles are 11.49. Who knows if that extra 0.50 for the same amount of liquid is from materials cost or just due to demand for cans these days... regardless, it's ultimately a good price these days for a beer just a touch under imperial strength.

And the 4 pack of 16 oz. cans will be $14.

Just noticed Redstone in Andover posted the pounder 4 packs are available. Will suffice for now.

South Shore got it this past Friday. There are 4 pk 16oz cans and 6 pack bottles. With all the hazy ipas, at my store especially, I feel like this one will be forgotten sadly

Outstanding. Hoppy yet balanced with the signature malt backbone. Love how the flavors come in waves on this beer.

Might be easier to say which stores don’t have it at this point.

Interesting, I'm getting such minor hop character from this beer now relative to what I expect and remember. Tastes like a nicely balanced amber ale to me, less of a hop fwd beer so back up its name.

I second this. I'm a bit disappointed. Still solid, but missing the hop bite I expect. Maybe my memory is off though.

Did you have the canned or bottled version? I enjoyed the bottle version better, for the reason of it being a bit more hoppy.

Can. I wanted the bottles but there was only cans at the store. Maybe I'll buy a single bottle of I come across it.

This is how I felt last year and wasn't sure if it was just a bad year. I remember really loving it years back as it was always one of the best beers I could get at local bars before the big craft boom. Not sure if my tastes have just changed or if the beer has changed a bit over the years.

Has the beer changed or have expectations of what a "hop-forward" beer should be like changed or both?

(I'll investigate this once I've picked up a sixer.)
