alright, now that i have spent far too long trying to figure out a witty title that incorporates a hug, spring elixir, a sequel reference and bellingham i think i can get to the point...and yes, i know the title sucked

i hope everyone had as much fun as i did last saturday. i would like to propose we try to do something similar semi annually and rotate between seattle, bham and pdx. imho the next share should include a hug between @beertunes and @EdwardAbbey and that bottle of spring elixir so maybe bham is the right place for that to happen? 6 months would put us right around christmas and i am guessing many will be busy/travelling so maybe between thanksgiving and christmas would work? just throwing out some ideas so please feel free to throw out other ideas for frequency, locations, etc.

    cheers all!

My trips to visit Terry & the hobo's are way to infrequent. Always looking for an excuse.

    Wish I lived closer.
    Round 4 could be Hawaii?
    One day I'll attend.

As long as it's not when I'm in Belgium or Japan, I'm in.

As it happens, several of us have birthdays within a 2-3 week span, mid-November to early December. And, as it happens, we tend to get a bunch of folks together for a bottle share. And, as it happens, I may know of a space suitable for a large group.

I haven't looked at a calendar yet, let alone the Seacow/Coug/Husky schedules, but if there's a date somewhere in that timeframe, that works for y'all, I can start working it from my end.

I'd like to attend but tend to travel quite a bit for vacation and work between Turkey day and New Years. Throw a date out there and I will do my best to make it with something great. Sorry I missed you all last weekend and glad to hear it went off without a hitch.

I would suggest carpool or Bolt Bus. If someones SO isn't that much into beer, there's plenty to do in town, will be to give advice.

I was planning on finding an AirBNB and ubering it from there. It's what I do every time I do Portland. Last share I had a DD because it was only a 40 minute drive, no way I can get a DD all the way to Bellingham.

This sounds great, definitely in, Spring Elixer and @jaredmull's homebrew in tow. Will need to figure out transit.

Additionally, if anyone in the north lake area is interested in impromptu meet-ups, shoot me a PM. Always down for drinking beer with fellow BAs.

Though my crystal ball is somewhat cloudy, I'll be the first to propose December 9th or 16th as the two best possible (if purely tentative) dates, given the major holidays on either side of this time frame. My personal vote would be for the 16th, if it makes no difference to our point man up north, and mostly because I think CC B-Bomb will be released at the UBG on the 9th, if previous patterns hold. That's not a Rare Beer by any means, but some of us still like to be able to walk into the brewery (late) on the day it's released and retrieve a couple bottles without effort. It's one sign, among a decreasing number, that things are (kinda) still well in the world...

Whenever this precisely happens come the winter season, I personally like the idea of a bottle share during the darkest time of year in one of the northernmost points in the contiguous US. There's something poetic in that, because I trust we'll be making our own light together, with laughter and camaraderie, one way or another...

And, yeah, Jared's homebrew and the Spring Elixir will have to be the first bottles we crack. No ifs, ands, or buts. I'm not self-assertive, but this is me putting both feet down. I failed once. I will not fail again. And you have all, hereby, been duly informed.

For reasons that are not a matter of public record, December is completely off the board. I still haven't looked at the calendar, but, my instinct says that the Saturday before Thanksgiving is our best choice. If it were just locals, which this thing has turned into (being as we've had a "thing" in this time frame for several years now) a "thing".

To be blunt, we are doing a big share, likely on the before Saturday Thanksgiving. As we've done for a few years now, If we can make it work that it's also a BA share, HELL YEAH!

All that said, do not let the minority, affect the majority. I (personally) have no trouble rolling down to the Big City for one of these things. I suspect the other couple of the regulars here, have the same attitude.

So, to sum up, a thing is probably happening, the Saturday before Turkey Day, at a given location, in Bellingham. It's gonna be a blast as is, let's take it off the rails, and meld the combined awesomeness!!!!!

Shucks I will be out of town that Saturday. I guess I'll just have to make sure I can attend the next one...June 2018 in PDX?

:-) That one I can probably make. The one in Bellingham... I'd like to attend it, but I think that probably falls under the category of "no good can come of this." Too much driving, with too much alcohol involved... and I don't think I can rustle up a DD this time around.

BoltBus would be happy to be your DD between Portland and Bellingham. (Granted, they'll want to leave earlier than you do, but you can't have everything.)

@vurt has it down. Bolt Bus would be happy to give you a comfy seat, at a reasonable price. I believe there are 2 in each direction per day.

I'll check out the logistics as the date gets closer to see if taking Bolt will work. I'm assuming PDX to Bellingham is probably a 4 hour or so trip in each direction? I'm just not sure the time frame will work.
