The Wheatwine thread on the main page got me to thinking, other than Big Time's Old Sol, who makes a Wheatwine in our region?
I consider western Montana part of the Northwest on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. So Big Sky Five Valleys* qualifies as long as you drink it on one of those days. * But it's not a favorite. I'll always go back to Harvest Dance for my wheatwine fix. I'll seek out Old Sol though, based on reputation alone.
Breakside did a BB aged wheatwine a while back that was fanfuckingtastic. Not a regular release though
Kind of off topic, sorry, but is Harvest Dance from Boulevard worth trying? I've never tried a wheatwine and it's the only one I know I can get my hands on.
I love it, one of my all-time go-to beers. Also, I find nothing objectionable or inaccurate in Boulevard's description: "Beginning with a large portion of wheat malt, we add an equally generous helping of Hallertau and Citra hops and age the ale on both French and American oak. The result is a big, warming burst of tropical fruit flavors, highlighted by subtle wine-like notes, and rounding slowly to a long, dry, oaky finish." Does that not sound delicious to you?
LOL I love those things. Like "OMG the seats in this private jet are making my legs fall asleep. FML."
There's a BA Yeti and BA Abominable. I wonder if the BA Bigfoot is hiding out with BA Loch Ness and BA Chupacabra.
