NY BAer headed to Winchester VA

    My plan is to head down to the Shenandoah valley region mid feb and I'm looking for any upcoming special releases, breweries with limited distro that's available in your (the) area, and the best bars/pubs/gastropubs/bottle shops I should stop at along the way.

    This is not exactly a beer hot-spot that you are heading into. Maybe some others can comment more on gems along your route, but I know there are a couple of breweries in the Harrisburg area that may be worth looking into. Appalachian and Lancaster come to mind.
    As far as VA goes, keep eyes peeled for Blue Mountain/Barrel House releases. Devil's Backbone, DC Brau and Wild Wolf are also a regionals that you may find. The Union Jack in Winchester is a fairly neat place to have a bite and find a good pint.

    Unfortunately, DC Brau does not seem to get distributed any further west than Leesburg, VA (I picked it up at the Wegmans there). I recommend checking their website as it has the specific stores that get their distribution.

    There is a small brewery kinda between Winchester and Leesburg called Corcoran Brewing, I've never been but I had their double ipa at a brewfest and that memory may be blurry but I remember it being good
