I just bought the O'Dell's Woodcut No.8 Barleywine. Has O'Dell's already aged this enough? Does anyone have a recommendation on whether it's ready to go now or should it be cellared, and if so, for how long?
$20 bottle, don't want to blow it! Thanks!

Most brewer's intend on the beer to be drank fresh. Presumably they aged it until it was ready and blended to taste, so I'd drink it now. I never cellar something unless I've already tasted it, but to each their own.

That's a good call...just about 80% of the beers I have aging are ones I bought, tried, realized they needed time to fully mature and then went out and got a few to throw in the celler.
