Elysian The Great Pumpkin and Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale
A couple bottles of New Glarus Serendipity for the day/meal and Surly Darkness for dessert
Not sure what order but so far:
CCB Good Gourd
Founders Backwoods Bastard
Always have a SN Celebration or 2 during the Lions game, NH charkoota rye with dinner and Pumking for dessert. Haven't seen Charkoota on the shelves anywhere, so might substitute with a MS 2011 oak-aged treat and throw in my last founders harvest.
Figured I'd chime in here. New Belgium Snow Day & Southern Tier 2Xmas during football (Let's Go Cowboys!), 32oz fliptop bottle (original bottling) of DuClaw Repent for dinner time and dessert. Probably some other decent beer family will bring along as well.
Awesome choices in this thread. I paired beer with my Thanksgiving for the first time last year and learned alot, here is what I am planning for this year. Hint, most of the stuff was mentioned in this thread.
I have a couple barrel-aged pumpkin brews lined up.
No one I'll be dining with drinks beer, alas. I'll keep it to a glass of whatever red wine is on hand with dinner, plus several glasses of water.
Then I'll drive home, crawl into the back of my fridge, and not come back out until Sunday night.
I'll be drinking a large coffee from Dunkin Donuts. I have to work on Thanksgiving.
Have a couple Schlafly Pumpkins in the fridge, also thinking about putting a Saison Rue in there for the evening.
I've got a 750 growler of Twilight of the Idols and I might crack a Sucaba somewhere in there
Bells Third Coast ale
Alewerks Pumpkin and Brown Shugga Before
Autumn Maple and Hardywood Farmhouse Pumpkin During
Hardywood Gingerbread Stout for dessert
Ending the evening with a Big Bad Baptist
Can you buy these bottled at Victory? I live 10 minutes from there.
Caved in, went and got a 24 pk from Sam's. Can't wait to drink all of them not named Holiday Porter.
Heady Topper and The Dissident.
I was able to enjoy a visit to Sonoma County, Ca. with my wife last month and we picked up a Bruery Autumn Maple that was was smuggled back in my luggage, so that will be one of the beers I will open for the gathering at our house, along with a 2011 Saint Arnold Pumpkinator.
On Wednesday you can. Pretty sure it's brewery only.
I'm mainly looking forward to oak horizontal though.
Rogue Pumpkin Patch for sure, like thanksgiving in a bottle it is!
I have a four pack of Backwoods Bastard lined up and I am hoping none in my party enjoy it. Other than that I have a few Lagunitas IPA's, and will likely go shopping tomorrow for more beer. I was torn, as I am having Thanksgiving with my best friend from grad school, his brand new wife, and my girlfriend, and did not want splurge and bring my autumn maple, pumking, firestone walker DDBA, etc., because I'm not sure any would like. Plus, I have the holiday season to plan with my father and brother, and they appreciate what I have to offer more so than my current crowd. That said, I am in Knoxville and I really do not know my options for purchasing bottles, suggestions welcome.
A friend just sent me some Zombie Dust, Fat Head Hunter, White Rajah, and Columbus IPA. I have my folks coming in and they brought me some Ipswich Oatmeal Stout.
Not sure what my choices will be, but know whatever I choice it will be a good choice.
Southern Tier Pumking
Couple six packs of Heavy Handed for the games...
Four pack of Saison DuPont for dinner...
Four pack of Bourbon County for whenever...
After careful consideration, I've decided on the following:
Dinner prep: Sierra celebration
Dinner: Red wine/water
Post dessert: Backwoods Bastard or BCBS
i did Autumn Maple with dinner last year, this year im doing:
ive been very happy with Perennials offerings over the last year. Looking forward to this one as well
Daytime - Saison Dupont
Dinner - Wine
Desert - BCBCS
Unfortunately I'm the only one that will drink beer except I may be able to share a sour with my wife. Also I have to watch my 17 month old son so I can't have too much.
I'll probably have two of the following: Cherry Adam From the Wood, Fou' Foune, T.R.E.A.T. I will be out of town during Christmas so this will be a good opportunity to have a couple big hitters.
Narwhal to start
Fill in with SNPA during the day
Dinner with Sprecher Black Bavarian
End with Blackout Stout
the bruery autumn maple, ale smith yule smith, the bruery 5 calling birds, and lastly big bad baptisit
We'll be having a few people over to our new house. We don't officially move in until tomorrow...
Here's my lineup for a mixed group of mostly non-beer geeks. Cheers!
North Coast Old Stock Ale
Some home brew and then probably a TREAT. Who knows after that.
Weihenstephaner Hefe Weiss
Boulevard Tank 7
Oaked Arrogant Bastard
Ayinger Celebrator, Southern Tier 2X XMas
That's what scotch/bourbon is for! ;-)
HF Susan and S&S #5. Maybe a Stone enjoy by if they come in tomorrow. And a 12 of celebration to split with my cousin.
Your avatar is awesome. Hail Tom Atkins.
My local Stone Company Store had a line going around the block, so I busted a U and headed over to my hook-up and was promptly taken care of. I will not stand in line for beer.
This will be cracked open Thanksgiving night:
